The Hollywood Reporter: ‘Good Omens’ Final Season Will Be Just One Episode
Neil Gaiman has stepped away from the Prime Video show, which will wrap with a feature-length episode.

Sort of seems like the worst of both worlds, but hey ho. Guess I'll watch, but since I don't like Amazon anyway, I might just pirate it...

Oh and I think NG basically wrote the whole season already. I wish they'd publish it and let all profits go to rape crisis centres.

ETA: Terry Pratchett dot com has an official post with info:

Amazon Prime confirms details of Good Omens’ final season.

ETA2: Tumblr post with a little more background. Seems like S3 was completely cancelled, but someone pulled a movie out of the ashes. And y'know - it's good news for the crew/production, who just saw a chunk of their livelihood vanish.

ETA3: A very level headed post trying to look at the positives.

ETA4: OK, I promise to stop adding to this post, but I had to share this because it made me laugh out loud:

BUT there are still two people involved in this project whom I trust to make this right for us:

Rob Wilkins, who says of himself that his job is to be Sir Terry's representative on earth, and Michael Sheen, the OG Good Omens Fan.

Look me in the eye and tell me you don't believe Michael Sheen would fight Amazon execs in an ASDA parking lot if they told him he wasn't allowed to kiss David Tennant on the mouth in front of a rolling camera. Or that you don't believe David would follow his lead.

If anyone wants an indepth dive, but doesn't feel like listening to the original podcasts or dig through a lot of Tumblr Links, Council of Geeks has created two videos:

About those Neil Gaiman allegations (and the outlet that broke the story)

More Neil Gaiman Allegations (form a clear pattern)

^Excellent in all respects, takes care to separate the women's stories from the outlet that broke the news and so on. And yeah, NG just seems to be yet another one of Those Guys. (sigh)

~

Sidebar: I am very happy that Dead Boy Detectives is basically free from Neil Gaiman (he has had no input since, like the turn of the millennium, and the new TV show is the creation of Steve Yokey).

However, the bigger issue is obviously Good Omens, and I'm not sure what to do about that. It's the thing of 'I don't want to support this creator', but also the show is so much more than just Gaiman, and I love Michael Sheen & David Tennant... Ah well. I guess there's plenty of time to figure it out, it'll be a year or two until anything appears.

I am currently listening to a podcast:

Buried
A husband and wife team up with the film star Michael Sheen to dig into a witness's lost files on a toxic chemical secret. What really happened to the witness?

I found it due to this article: How Hollywood star Sheen helped uncover a dark secret

There is also a short interview here: "It’s so overwhelming, once you start to discover the truth" - Michael Sheen on the most shocking revelations in Radio 4's Buried: The Last Witness
An untold account of one of the world’s first-ever whistleblowers on ‘forever chemicals’, Buried: The Last Witness sees Michael Sheen join Dan Ashby and Lucy Taylor for an explosive new story

ETA: This is a deeply unsettling and worrying story. Just FYI. :(

~

And here is a video a David Tennant interview at the British LGBT Awards ❤

~

(And here is a short video of the two of them at 'Pub in the Park'. I had never heard of this, but it looks nice? Some more pictures here)

Anyway. In short, then I agree with this Tumblr post wholeheartedly:

If Michael Sheen investigating illegal toxic waste dumping and possibly getting poisoned from it and David Tennant telling politicians to fuck off because of their behaviour towards trans youth and taking down Prime Ministers isn’t the most Crowley/Aziraphale coded thing I’ve ever heard then I don’t know what is.

Looks fabulous.

And then I stumbled across this Good Omens video and remembered all the reasons I love this show and Good Omens:

(It's a proper old-fashioned vid - no TALKING - and the editing is 👌👌👌

GQ MAgazine - interview with Ncuti Gatwa: Ncuti Gatwa Rising
Playing the lead role in Doctor Who, Ncuti Gatwa shoulders the weight of one of pop culture’s most feverish fandoms. But it’s nothing compared to what he’s carried to get here

(I haven't written much about the new season, mostly I am just blown away by how good it is. Thoughts probably to follow once we have seen all of it. But let's just say that the latest episode destroyed me in all the best ways. 😍😍😍 Oh my heart! Oh show! Oh Doctor!)

Finally, a very random thing I came across: Most popular Brno souvenir is for free <3

[Good Omens] Aziraphale & Crowley - Past Lives

Vidder's notes:

Edit about the many lives of Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) and Crowley (David Tennant). There are many details to notice in the video, and each crossover choice has been thoroughly thought about! Try to find out why all these characters are matching together, or tell me which dynamics you would have chosen instead!

I am speechless. The editing & matching of clips is on another level. You don't really need to know anything about Good Omens to appreciate it, it's basically a love-letter to David Tennant & Michael Sheen.

Happy Birthday to the Good Omens universe. ^_^

I bring you a fic: Factory Settings

100k, post-S2. Basically an attempt at S3. Huge in scope and ambition. It is very long, but the chapters are very short. It's like catnip and you'll just keep reading. <3
elisi: Crowley and Aziraphale (Good Omens)
[personal profile] magnavox_23 posted loads of beautiful icons (Doctor Who, Our Flag Means Death, What We Do In The Shadows (tv), Staged, Sherlock, What We Do In The Shadows (movie), The Mandalorian, Good Omens, The Last of Us, Flight of the Conchords.) MANY SPOILERS

And voting is now open for TV Choice Magazine's Awards. ETA: Very UK centric. *g*

There are many many categories and I realised just how little mainstream TV I watch...
elisi: ALL THE LOVE (Staged)
Just David Tennant and Michael Sheen being an old married couple for 11 minutes straight

ETA: omg, just had to share this. From a Tumblr Ask

aurora-b asked:

The most important question about s3, is David Tennant going to be set on fire?

neil-gaiman answered:

If Amazon decide not to commission Season 3, I will personally set David on fire to make up for it.

So, I haven't been around much for the past month due to, well, living on Tumblr. This is the result. It's a carefully curated post of the discourse/meta on S2 of Good Omens, analysing and digging into the themes and characters. Incomplete, obviously, as I will be adding more since it's an ongoing conversation with the show.

Although there are a few DW posts, mostly it's Tumblr. Also, there are a couple of my own posts in there, as well as one of Promethia's and many of Owl's. :)

For reference, here is my Good Omens Master Post, which I will add this post to. I will presume that everyone is familiar with everything in that post, certainly the meta side, as it's a complex and deeply layered show. Enjoy!

Here be many spoilers )

What made the difference was this poster by Rory Kurtz. Isn't it amazing?

The poster for S1 has been my wallpaper for the past 4 years, it's almost a part of me.

So a new poster means actual change.

Over the weekend Darcy & I watched The Gold
From the blurb on the BBC: Three tonnes of solid gold, six armed robbers and an audacious heist that stunned Britain. Stealing it was just the start. Starring Dominic Cooper and Hugh Bonneville.

Based on true events (the Brinks-Mat robbery). Brilliantly written and acted, nail-bitingly tense at times, wonderful characters. (6 episodes, 1 hr each.) Highly recommended.

My 17 year old has left for a Halloween party dressed as Crowley, complete with bb!antichrist in a basket. I feel I must have done something right. :)

ANYWAY. Onto GOOD and WONDERFUL representation. I watched Our Flag Means Death which is exactly as delightful and enjoyable as everyone said.

What else? Oh yes. Then we binged the first three episodes of S2 of Russian Doll and ohmygodilovethisshowsomuch

I don't think I ever wrote about S1, partly because it was simply so perfect that I had nothing to say. S2 looks like it's equally inventive and SO CLEVER OMG (although going in a different kind of direction, no Groundhog Day this time). Partly I am just in awe of the ingenuity, but the other half of me just adores all the characters to tiny tiny pieces and I simply just want to spend more time with them. I'd watch them read the phone book, they're that wonderful and complex and real.

It's sort of... the opposite of Chibnall Who.

ETA: Watched episode 4, and it's just so gooood. Crazy, crazy clever and inventive, as well as just crazy. It all just runs off the sheer chaos energy that is Nadia.

Thought: There must be cross-over fic with Doctor Who. Esp since Nadia is probably one of the few people who a) could understand what the Doctor is on about (like, the science) and b) is more chaotic than the Doctor. Ye gods, the sparks would fly. <3

(In OFMD world, Ed would love her. She would make Stede very nervous.)
