loads of beautiful icons (Doctor Who, Our Flag Means Death, What We Do In The Shadows (tv), Staged, Sherlock, What We Do In The Shadows (movie), The Mandalorian, Good Omens, The Last of Us, Flight of the Conchords.) MANY SPOILERS

And voting is now open for
TV Choice Magazine's Awards. ETA: Very UK centric. *g*
There are many many categories and I realised just how little mainstream TV I watch...

You don't appear to have Daytime Soaps - or you do, but don't consider them worthy? I know there are folks in the UK watching American Daytime Soaps - because I see them on Soap Xitter.

We have SOAPS (Eastenders, Coronation Street, Emmerdale etc), but they are on in the early evening. There are daytime shows, but they don't carry the same weight. I don't watch daytime TV, like at all, but it's mostly make-over shows, quizzes, chat shows, that kind of thing. The list off the top of my head would be Countdown, Location Location Location, Homes Under the Hammer, This Morning, Bargain Hunt etc. I have a feeling Holby City was a daytime [hospital] soap, but a quick google tells me that it has finished...

They might be watching online? If they're not in the awards, they're probably not shown on any mainstream channel.

A lot of people have cut the cable/broadcast television cord and just watch streaming. My brother has. I've not gotten myself to do it yet - but I may soon enough.

Hence not being nominated. :)

Depends on what you watch, I guess. It's silly to pay for something you never use.

I can't part with it - because of the News, and a few shows I watch on cable. But it's a steadily shrinking number.

*nods* And there are shows I haven't seen, because I don't want to pay a subscription for just ONE thing. So I wait...

Yup, shows live or die by their characters for me as well. I didn't like the characters, they irritated me. ;-)

And if you found them irritating, I can see why you didn't keep watching! I was hooked from 'Creepy paper' onwards. :)

I disliked the Office, Parks and Recreation, etc for the same reasons.

In that case I am impressed you lasted two seasons. :)

However I was very happy to put in a vote for The Woman in the Wall (BBC). We're only halfway through, but it's EXCELLENT. I'll probably do a post about it, but it's about the Magdalene Laundries, or rather reckoning with what happened back then. With a murder mystery in the middle.
(Of course I only posted b/c of Good Omens, but it was nice to find something else to support!)
