May 17 was chosen as the day of the event because homosexuality was removed from the International Classification of Diseases of the World Health Organization (WHO) on May 17, 1990.

Sadly apropos, in Iran, a court has sentenced four men to death by hanging for sodomy.

I believe this is relevant to our interests:

IAmA guy whose bromance has turned into a gay relationship, yet neither of us admit it.

Goodness knows if it's real or made up, but it's rather fabulous either way, and the comments are GOLD. Both the silly ones, and those that are more reflective. (Not to mention the ones which are True Story Slash Fics... *raises eyebrow* Either way, they're entertaining). Plus the commenters seem to be pretty evenly men and women (most of them straight(-ish)), which is even better.

The only other time was when they had the Jack and Jones issue (points to icon), but it was sitting there on the shelf - the last issue ever - and this was the cover:

And when I turned it over, it had Gwen/Rhys on the other side... ♥

Lovely interview with JB, and one with Eve Myles, although my favourite thing might have been their Top 25 moments. Spoilers for everything )

Can I just mention that I love my gay show way WAY too much? *laughs* (The Top 3 - by quite some margin - are all Jack kissing other men...)

In case there's someone who hasn't heard it! (From The Sunday Times, although it has been all over.)

Two late-night drunks attacked a pair of cross-dressing men, but got more than they bargained for when their victims turned out to be professional cage fighters on their way to a fancy dress party. [I think it was a stag do.]
Daniel 'Lionheart' Lerwell, 23, and James 'Lights Out' Lilley, 22, were walking through Swansea late at night when they faced taunts of "Nice dress, gay boy!" from two men. One then threw a punch at James, who was wearing a pink wig and hot pants. James and Daniel, wearing a short black dress, suspenders and stockings, felled the attackers. After retrieving their handbags, the cage fighters left the culprits dazed on the ground.
Daniel, 13 stone and a trained plumber, said he'd been particularly proud of his appearance as his mum had helped put on his make-up. "It's a sorry state of affairs when a guy can't safely walk down the street in a mini-skirt and make-up without getting grief from some idiot."

And here's a video - go to around the 1 minute mark. :) (Using my Ianto icon, since obviously Welsh men are made of awesome!)

I don't read RPF. It's a genre that quite simply does nothing for me. HOWEVER, [livejournal.com profile] sam_storyteller wrote this, and I will be forever grateful:

On The Run From The Lunar Mafia.

Summary: Gareth David-Lloyd's quiet evening is interrupted by time travel. And robots.

I cannot BEGIN to describe how utterly fabulous this thing is, so instead I'll just leave you with a picture of John and Scott on the day they got Civil Partner-shipped. (Darn that is an awkward phrase.) And *how* did John manage to find a partner who is prettier than himself? It ought to be against the laws on nature.

(Yes I'm procrastinating, why do you ask?)

And I know that I linked to this earlier. But - a kind soul cut down the video, so here are the *important* bits!

(Also, RTD is devious in ways Joss couldn't dream of. Kissing his way into the fans good graces again? Is it working?)
