elisi: Edwin and Charles (Birthday Spike by kathyh (not sharable))
Happy Belated Birthday to [livejournal.com profile] fotada, [livejournal.com profile] garfpooky, [livejournal.com profile] lilachigh, [livejournal.com profile] mgal, [livejournal.com profile] jenjojen, [livejournal.com profile] arclevel and [livejournal.com profile] spikesgurl.

And Happy Birthday today to [livejournal.com profile] gabrielleabelle and [livejournal.com profile] katjs11.

Hope you've all had/are having a fabulous day! *sends many hugs and good wishes for the future*

I don't have anything in the way of presents, but I did make a macro... ;) (Free to good homes btw. Credit would be nice, but is not necessary.)

ETA: OMG! Miniature Art on the Tip of Pencil by Dalton Ghetti. Unbelievable!
elisi: Edwin and Charles (Disco dalek by tenthrose)
Voulez-Vous, a 'Victory of the Daleks' vid by [livejournal.com profile] fan_eunice!

Gingerbread Doctors! (Spoilers for 'Victory of the Daleks' at the bottom btw. To avoid, just don't scroll past all the Doctors piled up on a round plate!)

ETA: Lovely review of 'The Eleventh Hour', which also includes this priceless quote from the Moff:

"It's literally a television show set in everyplace in the universe, every point in history and in every style and every genre. It's all the other shows in one. You don't have to watch the rest of television – this is it."

Also, THIS! :D

~~~
Yesterday I gave my LJ an overhaul, with a gorgeous new banner that I got [livejournal.com profile] kathyh to make for me (THANK YOU again!) and a rather bright colour scheme, that's nicely spring-time-y. Also updated my user info, and will probably keep tinkering for quite a while...
However RL is getting busy, and will only keep getting more so for the next few weeks. So I'll probably be pretty absent, unfortunately. You guys keep me sane!
OMG a la carte userpics!!!! I am still stunned, but (of course) instantly forked over the cash and am now drowning in teh pretty.
This icon actually reflects my state of mind very accurately. Half of me is going 'SQUEEEEEEEE!!!eleventy!!!', and the other is going 'Oh God LJ is a black pit into which I pour money for the sake of tiny little squares on a screen. Clearly I am insane!'
(Incidentally I think that clip is what made me fall in love with Amy way before the show aired (it was shown as part of the Wossy trailer) - her face!!!)
~~~

In completely different news, I bring you (via [livejournal.com profile] curiouswombat) MAD CAP'N TOM, quite probably the single most awesome candidate in the upcoming elections! (HE HAS POLICIES. HE HAS EXPERIENCE. HE HAS A DUCK ON HIS HEAD.)

And before you say that 'he'll never get in', I shall point you towards Jacob Haugaard, a Danish Comedian who was elected to the Danish Parliament in 1994! (From wiki: Among his outrageous campaign promises were: 8 hours of free time, 8 hours of rest and 8 hours of sleep. More tailwind on bicycle paths. Promises of better weather. Right to impotency. Nutella in field rations (was actually implemented). Shorter queues in supermarkets.) I also remember 'more sex in school staff rooms'. Oh! And he used his whole campaigning budget on a giant barbecue in a park, to which he invited 'everyone'. :)

And now I HAVE to run, 'cause I have a few hours ENTIRELY TO MYSELF and have to go be extremely busy!

THIS says exactly what I've been trying to formulate re. the whole health care thing. Also it beautifully illustrates just how much we get from society.

*shivers*

I'm about to head out again, but thought I'd first share this fabulous vid I came across:

David Tennant's Top Gear Lap in The TARDIS.

Also, since Sarah Palin is back in the spotlight, I've been meaning to share some links. One old, one new:

Sarah Palin: Fangirl. Best. Thing. EVER!

Slate held a write like Sarah Palin contest. I think this entry should have won, it just captures that run-on thing beautifully:

"The minute I was on that stage in Florida with all those lights in my eyes and the smell of Alaska still on my fingertips and my family, too, all around out there, I was where I dreamed of all those years on the basketball court and in Alaskas's God given beauty which we must cherish and use as God gave it us to use and in honor of the troops, also."

(I posted fic yesterday btw. In case there's more than one person (other than me) who might be interested in a Timelord child growing up on Earth... Ah well, 'twas written for love! *pets it*)

(Snagged from various places on my flist. I didn't think it was *possible* to love John Barrowman more, but then I saw this! Oh John, NEVER CHANGE!)

Shouldn't be here, so am just bringing you this:

I'm heterosexual, and it's just freakin' fantastic.

One Nation Under God. (Interactive, just move your mouse around...)

ETA: This is the best article I've yet read on MJ's death. (Not that I've read many, but this one is pretty spot-on. 'The songs remind us of ourselves--this is why they are important.')
