GIP!
OMG a la carte userpics!!!! I am still stunned, but (of course) instantly forked over the cash and am now drowning in teh pretty.
This icon actually reflects my state of mind very accurately. Half of me is going 'SQUEEEEEEEE!!!eleventy!!!', and the other is going 'Oh God LJ is a black pit into which I pour money for the sake of tiny little squares on a screen. Clearly I am insane!'
(Incidentally I think that clip is what made me fall in love with Amy way before the show aired (it was shown as part of the Wossy trailer) - her face!!!)
~~~
In completely different news, I bring you (via
curiouswombat) MAD CAP'N TOM, quite probably the single most awesome candidate in the upcoming elections! (HE HAS POLICIES. HE HAS EXPERIENCE. HE HAS A DUCK ON HIS HEAD.)
And before you say that 'he'll never get in', I shall point you towards Jacob Haugaard, a Danish Comedian who was elected to the Danish Parliament in 1994! (From wiki: Among his outrageous campaign promises were: 8 hours of free time, 8 hours of rest and 8 hours of sleep. More tailwind on bicycle paths. Promises of better weather. Right to impotency. Nutella in field rations (was actually implemented). Shorter queues in supermarkets.) I also remember 'more sex in school staff rooms'. Oh! And he used his whole campaigning budget on a giant barbecue in a park, to which he invited 'everyone'. :)
And now I HAVE to run, 'cause I have a few hours ENTIRELY TO MYSELF and have to go be extremely busy!
*nods* Yes, this. There's really no chance I'm not going to buy them - you know, once they bring them back on-line.
Yes, I bought some the second I saw someone on my flist mention it. And then they didn't show up, and I had to write to Those Who Fix Stuff, and when I woke up this morning it was sorted. \o/ (It was because the userpics I already had were paid up until whenever, and the extra batch wouldn't go anywhere near as far... *snore* But they fixed it, so I'm OK! It's EXTRAORDINARY how difficult they've made it.)
SHINY SHINY LITTLE SQUARES! I've also re-uploaded lots that I had to delete to make room for new ones (and deleting icons always KILLS me), so it's all good. Sure I've sold my soul, but... SHINY! I mean, how could I resist this one f.ex.?
And he's "Fixing Broken Britain" by sending everyone a roll of duct tape. ::loves::
I'd totally vote for him, if I could! :)
Brilliant, isn't it? The 'Broken Britain' thing is a Tory catchphrase btw (they think they can fix it! ::eyeroll::) and every. single. time. I hear it, my mind turns it into 'This country is sick. This country needs healing...' (The Tories are EVIL OMG! *g*)
HOW do I not have a Saxon icon? How??
I does sound like the tories are going to win this time around though. Honestly, I'm a fan of "Turn the bums out" every so often. I'm not convinced it''s good for the country (speaking in an American sense here, though I suspect I'd feel the same way if I lived elsewhere) not to let a particular party stay in office forever. They just get entrenched. Things need to be shaken up once in a while.
I have folders upon folders full... (Although I uploaded this one especially b/c of the upcoming election.)
Honestly, I'm a fan of "Turn the bums out" every so often.
Oh I certainly understand that, and New Labour haven't exactly covered themselves in glory. /understatement of the century \
And yet I'd rather vote for Saxon than Cameron, because the Tories... well. Don't like them. And (on a shallow, but important note) there's things like the BBC to consider. I'm not at all convinced that they wouldn't privatise it in a second and then where would we be? So the Lib Dems it is then! (Words that never seemed plausible until now. What is the world coming to?)
Hee!
I have seriously been considering posting something like that in my LJ close to election day! (And yes, they're missing a trick, big time!)
ETA: The Moff himself has been saying 'Don't vote Tory!' (And I know Rusty is worried about the Beeb's future. These things are very worrying!)
I hadn't heard about SJA. I adore that show!
If I remember rightly it's got two seasons more, so yay!
We should probably email them that one. Couldn't be worse than the ones they're using!
Well I'm a mama, and I say 'Yes. Yes it is!'
But now I feel much better! I got a Mama Stamp of Approval! I...might have to buy 70 more, when the option is back up!
They already are! *beams* (Also LOUD, but hey ho, that's to be expected...)
If I ever have kids, I fully intend to raise them in the ways of fandom. :D
I am exceedingly glad that Doctor Who returned when it did, cause it's perfect. :) (Did I ever mention that the two eldest wrote letters to Matt Smith? It was part of a big project [The Scrapbook of Love] by
My pleasure! (And I really need another 'mama' icon - not that this one isn't great, but it's a bit... you know. Although there are plenty of days when I feel like that! *g*) I bought 70 as well. I've now got 195! Which means I've got 58 free spaces. I'm still in shock.
That's true! I sometimes forget that Doctor Who is really intended to be a kids show, since it's so easy to love as an adult, but I imagine it is indeed the perfect gateway drug in to fandom. :D
That is absolutely adorable! I'm sure he enjoyed their letters immensely! How cute!
That icon is hilarious. I'm sure all moms feel like that.
Yeah. I'm gonna do it.
Also, generally, a *child* thing, I think. Certainly, the noise level always goes up when girl-from-next-door-who-practically-lives-in-our-house comes round...
It really is! And they've got a toy TARDIS & figures & monsters and books and model kits etc etc. :D
Cutest thing in the world!
I don't often mention how much I love Anya, but... she's awesome!
Every time you talk about this, it makes me want to get MORE.
Heh. I am evil, you see?
Anya is definitely awesome!
Very evil!
I think that's just normal. :)
