I hear the song of your sadness.

She saved the world a lot.
19 April 2011 09:01 pmElisabeth Sladen, aka Sarah Jane Smith, has passed away.
I honestly, genuinely, do not know how to tell my children.
ETA: From looking at wiki, they were apparently working on S5 of SJA, but it's unclear whether it had been completed or not. However, I am so grateful she got to meet Ten and Eleven. To quote
calapine from her review of the first part of 'Death of the Doctor', because it sums everything up just beautifully (even though it also chokes me up):
"Hello, Sarah Jane," says Eleventy because Doctors have to do that to Sarah now and look at her beautifully with love and he does.

Goodbye, Sarah Jane Smith

Death of the Doctor Part 2.
26 October 2010 06:12 pmAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! RTD is the single biggest fanboy in the UNIVERSE! Must re-watch about twenty million times, because it was all made of lovely and awesomeness and it is possible that I am in a kind of sugar-rush! ♥ ♥ ♥
( Spoilers and many capslocks )
Also, I NEED ICONS! Does anyone know anywhere? (OK, so it's a bit early, I know. But if you find a good source, will you tell me?)

New things!
11 October 2010 07:01 pmThe Sarah Jane Adventures returned today. :) The girls (obviously) adore the show, and I must confess to being rather fond of it too, watching purely for the awesomeness of all the characters! ♥ (No, I have no actual thoughts, but it was all lovely. If you want to talk about it, please do!)
~~~
I also decided to update my layout, since
kathyh has been so kind as to make me a new banner. I had this very specific idea, and she managed to capture it perfectly! \o/ It kinda encapsulates a lot of my thoughts and feelings about S5, as well as the overarching themes in Moffat's writing, and I love it to pieces. Still not quite sure about the colour scheme - it's a bit too lilac, I think, but I can fix that later. (If anyone wants to snag the banner, please do. Just credit Kathy! It is also available in blue & pink as well as Black and white.)
ETA: Does anyone else change their gmail theme so it matches with their LJ layout? Or is that just me...
19 April 2010 04:52 pmFirst of all (and it sort of deserves its own post, except I don't want to spam your flists, and also I'm a bit rushed):
TENTH DOCTOR: THE MUSICAL by
di_br. (Capslocks mine, because it is a capslock-y sort of vid!)
Summary: The Tenth Doctor Era, told through the power ofinterpretive dance music!
I can't even begin to describe it. I laughed, I squeed, I flailed, I cried. Whatever your feelings on Ten, you *need* to watch this vid!
~~~
Secondly, this press release from the BBC:
Sarah Jane Smith is reunited with another of The Doctor's former companions, Jo Grant (Katy Manning), in a new series of The Sarah Jane Adventures, set to air on CBBC this autumn. They'll be joined by The Eleventh Doctor (Matt Smith), in a special edition of the show penned by executive producer Russell T Davies.
More info at the link. My reaction is mostly just to go OMGxinfinity!
~~~
Thirdly, then
kalichan wrote Doctor/Master fic: Next Round's On Me.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
Maybe AU, maybe not. But most definitely excellent! (Spoilers for EoT.)
~~~
Fourthly,
calapine has a review of 'Victory of the Daleks' which mirrors my own thoughts pretty neatly. (Okay, is it just me or was that quite... good? Not brilliant, y'know, but solid, entertaining, likeable? It was certainly better than any Dalek story since PotW, anyway.)
