You are probably all aware of this already, but just in case, here's some links!

A vigilante group 'Warriors for Innocence' is going around Livejournal, trolling and reporting users/communities with hot button terms listed as interests (like "rape", "incest" and "pedophilia". They are also apparently trolling through userpics) and getting the users/communities suspended. (Might not be just them, btw. But they do appear to be at the center!)

liz_marcs wrote them a letter and they wrote back (included is her response to them).

Post about pornish_pixies here, including a letter from LJ (you wanna bitch at someone, bitch at 6A - LJ is just caught in the crossfire and trying not to get sued. *sigh*).

Everything's so darn negative, so I feel compelled to bring some pretty - 'cause what is LJ without sharing Teh Pretty?

First of all there's the icon I'm using, which the brilliant moscow_watcher made for me. (You can find another variation here). Very sharable, just remember to credit! :)

Second, 'Spike: Asylum' included all the different covers, and one of them was just the most gorgeous painting of Spike that I've ever seen. So I asked kathyh if she could maybe make it into an icon... and then she made 6 and now I can't choose! See what I mean? (Again - very sharable, do credit!)

Thirdly I uploaded a bunch of 'Black Books' icons for beer_good_foamy. There are some real treasures there and with 99 downloads left there should be plenty to go round...

(Also it's the two week half-term, so it'll be a while before I can answer comments...)

You know what I need? A Brass Eye icon. If you're not familiar with this outstanding series of mock-u-mentaries, go here and read about their 2001 paedophilia special. They didn't just see groups like WFI coming, they mocked them mercilessly. Short Youtube clips here and here. Re. icons we could do with something that uses this utterly brilliant line:

"Now that is scientific fact! There's no real evidence for it - but it is scientific fact"

So... what's happening? liz_marcs has yet again gathered up pretty much everything in this post.

vichan is trying to find out how many of us LJers are in fandom. Please go to fandom_counts and join. That's all you have to do. (Also it's fun to check up every 10 minutes or so and see the number go up by a good few hundered. So spread the word!)

Finally, you might want to back up your LJs with LJ book (presuming it hasn't crashed with the increased traffic).


I love LJ. I really, seriously hope that they clear up this mess. And I think I'll write to Six Apart. (I'm not leaving. But I'd like an explanation.)
