What I am watching tonight...

I'm generally not one for historical dramas. But. I shall be watching this one, for the almost same reasons I watched Casanova (David Tennant) and The Devil's Whore (John Simm). In this case, it's Aidan Turner...
More info here.
Tonight, BBC1, 9pm. :) (And oh, is my mood theme ever appropriate or what?)
ETA: I had never heard of Poldark until Friday, when work colleagues brought it up. So I have no baggage. It's v. interesting to hear all the stories of people loving the original.

And Casanova was awesome! I really liked it. I even started to read his biography (12 books!) afterwards, to find out which things were real and which were made up. Turns out, the lottery was real! So, I learnt something.
He is also kinda attached to my homecity Dresden, he has been here and his brother was a professor at the art academy and is buried at a cemetary here, and his mother was a singer at our opera.

LOL. If you learned anything from Shark Attack III (other than JB is pretty), I'd love to know! ♥

Casanova was very good, yes. I never read his biography, but I knew that they didn't exaggerate much...

Ooooh. Shiny.

But it does look stunning from the trailers, and Aiden Turner is always worth watching, so I'll probably record it to watch later in the week. Tonight at 9.00 is Darts for Comic Relief (I don't even watch darts, but somehow seem to have watched all 6 games on catch up over the weekend!!).
Enjoy your Poldark :)

I enjoyed it muchly, but then have zero baggage. :)
And we've been half-following the darts also! It's oddly captivating.

('Twas v. good and I liked it very much. Mind you, I'd watch Aidan Turner read the phone book, he's brilliant.)
And thanks for the rec!

Heh. Darcy heard the words 'dark and brooding' on the TV voiceover as the programme was about to start, and ran away to do some work on the computer... But *I* liked it very much and shall be watching the rest, oh yes. :)

I can't watch the new one, as I really can't go through all that drama again - and unfortunately, it's really hard for me to imagine anyone other than angharad reese as demelza. (Though, truth to tell, despite how well Robin Ellis played Poldark, I can imagine someone else playing the part.)
I used to have a poldark otp icon; if I can dig it up, I'll come back and post it here. You can have it, if you'd like.See icon. Snag icon. Have icon. :-)

Interdasting. I like what I've seen of new Demelza so far, esp. as I have nothing to compare her to. And oh, Aidan Turner is ever so good. (He was Mitchell in Being Human - the original, UK version - if you ever saw that. So he can do dark & brooding in his sleep if he has to. *g*)
And lovely icon, but have NO ROOM. :(

Although as S2C is watching one lot of darts and recording another, my plan is to watch it on the TV on the iPlayer tomorrow so I can see it on the proper sized screen.
Due to the memories of the original series I can read anything anyone says about it in the meantime as I can't really be spoilered!

Lucky you! Although I have settled in for Period DRAMA, so shall be enjoying myself. :)

Oh absolutely. And this was v. nice - the BBC know how to do Period Drama and no mistake. :)

(Also your icon is hilarious and completely appropriate. All the publicity has talked about Shirtless Moments. *g*)
