What I am watching tonight...

HappyPoldarkDay

Poldark returns from the American War of Independence to his beloved Cornwall to find his world in ruins: his father dead, his house wrecked and his sweetheart engaged.

I'm generally not one for historical dramas. But. I shall be watching this one, for the almost same reasons I watched Casanova (David Tennant) and The Devil's Whore (John Simm). In this case, it's Aidan Turner...

More info here.

Tonight, BBC1, 9pm. :) (And oh, is my mood theme ever appropriate or what?)

ETA: I had never heard of Poldark until Friday, when work colleagues brought it up. So I have no baggage. It's v. interesting to hear all the stories of people loving the original.

The 70s version was quite good - I remember watching it with my mother, she adored it and the actor portraying Poldark. Interesting they've decided to remake it.

Poldark was a regular watch with not only my mum but my grandma and great-aunt as well.
