What I am watching tonight...

HappyPoldarkDay

Poldark returns from the American War of Independence to his beloved Cornwall to find his world in ruins: his father dead, his house wrecked and his sweetheart engaged.

I'm generally not one for historical dramas. But. I shall be watching this one, for the almost same reasons I watched Casanova (David Tennant) and The Devil's Whore (John Simm). In this case, it's Aidan Turner...

More info here.

Tonight, BBC1, 9pm. :) (And oh, is my mood theme ever appropriate or what?)

ETA: I had never heard of Poldark until Friday, when work colleagues brought it up. So I have no baggage. It's v. interesting to hear all the stories of people loving the original.

Now I worry about his character. *g* I think it's a very blokeish sort of humour though

Totally must be. As also both him and Richard Dean Anderson seem to be fascinated with farting and did so often on the set ;) Something we girls cannot understand I guess.

LOL yeah it does ;)
Not that I have any experience myself.

I just remembered that John and Carole also sometimes do a read of their Hollow Earth books in schools and answer questions. And they ask the kids what it would be like in London in the 18th century. Apparently it is always a huge success and much giggling ensues when they are saying "pee" and "poo". I think John enjoys it just as much as the Fourth graders LOL
