A little drabble for LM!

Dear [livejournal.com profile] lillianmorgan.

This is just a little something that's been sat in a folder for far, far too long. Possibly started as a delayed birthday fic, I'm not sure. Anyway, it's not quite Sparla, but as close as I'll probably ever get (Set sometime after the Boxer rebellion stuff). Only a drabble, but I hope you like it. :)

She watches him.

The upstart - Angelus’ protégé, Drusilla’s lover.

She never really took to him; thought him too... what? He was nothing but a starry-eyed fledgling, over-eager and cocksure; yet still very much the little poet.

Only now he’s suddenly grown up - ordering minions, protecting Dru, using the teachings she passed down. He still defers to her, but she knows it won’t be long before he’ll challenge her. He killed a Slayer after all...

She misses Angelus with all of her being, but knows that he is lost forever.

Maybe it’s finally time to go back home to The Master.

Very nice - an unexplored part of their history.

Ooo, very nice. You made me feel a bit sorry for Darla.

Lovely.

He still defers to her, but she knows it won’t be long before he’ll challenge her.
You're not just going to let that lie there are you? Let's be havin' you. Show us what/when he did.

Chicken!

Write it, go on, you know you wanna.

I didn't mean to pester, sorry, I was teasing.

It would make a nice 69 in a 369er. Pity I don't write Darla often enough or I might have a go myself.

Very nice. I've always wondered what made Darla go back to the Master and that's a very plausible reason.

Thank you.
but as close as I'll probably ever get
Heh. That made me giggle.
I like what you've done here. It makes such plausible sense to me, that in William she saw her equal. Very nice and thanks very much once again.

lovely stuff, and a good reason as to why Darla would leave Dru and Spike after losing Angelus to his soul ...

It's sad when the kids grow up on you like that. *g*

Ooh! This is great, and a good explanation for why Darla ran back to the Master. Lovely drabble, sweets, and you are so kind to do this for our sweet Lillian. ::smooches::

Very insightful and true to the characters and their dynamics. Very nice.

Uh, interesting and nice!
I think is plausible your point of view. In fact, I think is perfect. Darla is always a woman of her times, she needs a companion or a strong male to support her. I really don't understand those who think at her as Buffy 2.0, or the adult version of the slayer. She's really a different kind of woman, of character.

[personal profile] kikimay 2011-12-28 03:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Absolutely!
In the point of view of Angel, Darla was really a center of everything: she was his mother, lover and teacher. I mean, who can beat that?
But Angel has his limitations.
Buffy is another kind of woman, with a different story. So the comparison works for Angel and if you talk about Angel's feelings and development, but if you talk about Buffy's feelings and life ... well, things changes.
