I feel pretty and witty and gay...
What with June being LGBT month in the US, thanks to Obama (pretty words good, but hopefully he'll actually *do* something soon), and so forth, I thought this video would be a nice tribute. It's clips from the peaceful march in San Diego on 26th of May 09, set to Adam Lambert's 'Mad World'. (Does anyone have an mp3 of that btw? I can suddenly see what all the fuss was about.)
Otherwise I have achieved a MIRACLE in the girls' bedroom (not done, but OMG so much better), since m-i-l was so kind as to let them all sleep over last night giving me lots of time. ALSO, Darcy and I went to the cinema and finally saw Star Trek!!!!! (I have no thoughts. I was never a Trek fan, but it was hugely enjoyable and I'd love to see it again. Will probably end up getting the DVD.)
Oh - and I never mentioned that whilst away last week [in Scotland, staying with s-i-l & her family] we went to the beach & Darcy totally lived up to his name, deciding that he needed a swim, but failed to remove his jeans first... (He did take off his shirt though. Still - very pretty and swoon-worthy, although what I said was : "Why did you do that, you idiot?" Thankfully it was so warm & sunny that he was half-dry by the time we went home...)
ETA: I posted Chapter 12 of My Immortal last week, in case someone missed it?

I've got both - what's the best way to get it to you? They're 3 meg files, after all...

3 meg - will that go in an email? I think the limit is something like that, so it might be tricky. There's also sendspace/yousendit/etc if that's not too much of a hassle? Oh - and thank you! :D

ETA: If it wasn't for my parents arriving tonight, I'm sure I'd end up re-watching Donnie Darko tonight.

Not an idiot if you were able to enjoy a swoon-worthy sight. :-)
I have to catch up on the last chapter of My Immortal. I've noticed that it was a very long part and I want to savour it.

True. But it was hard to tell the children that they were silly for getting their clothes soaked, when their father was no better! *g*

Aw thank you. (And they're ALL long. This fic is going to be novel length by the time it's finished!)

Congrats on the girls' room!

Isn't it just? I'm enchanted.
Mike is a major Tears fan and also like Jules' version of the song
I like both of those too (very much so), but this one's just blown me away all over again. I've really *not* been following AI (haven't followed 'Pop Idol' - the original version from over here - since the first series), but did hear about the outcry when Lambert only came second. (Have never heard the winner though, so can't make an informed choice, but Lambert is certainly quite something.)
Congrats on the girls' room!
Thank you! (Now for *keeping* it tidy...)

Now for *keeping* it tidy.
Ha! Yes, that's always the challenge *eyes dishes*

Yes, I can see that. I founds his audition of youtube, and thought it was interesting that he'd never gone on AI before - there's too many 17 y.o.'s who think they're god's gift.
They ran a clip of the winner saying that he was talented but very MOR.
Well I wish them both well! :)

Indeed. And having been hopelessly messy myself when I was little, it's a bit tricky to complain too much.

Also - weeee, Star Trek! I'm glad you finally saw it. I'm still incoherent and bumbly and jumping up and down, even a few weeks after seeing it, and I'll be going for the 3rd time this weekend with some fans met online. But then I used to be Spock's fangirl when I watched it 15 years ago, so for me it was passion reignited, with all the power of being in fandom behind it. :)
I highly recommend the original 60-s series - they had some outdated concepts (especially in regards to women), but it was so much fun and crack and such beautiful friendship between main heroes. It was the grandfather of all fandoms, after all. :)

*nods* I am extremely grateful that *my* family is - one of my husband's cousins is bringing up her and her ex-girlfriend's little boy (it's more complicated, but essentially he has two mums).

I think that's a very common reaction! :)

There are Doctor Who icons out there saying 'Sometimes your fandom comes back to life' - I'm waiting for Star Trek ones to appear.

Interestingly, that was due to the network, and *not* the creator!
It was the grandfather of all fandoms, after all. :)
It was indeed. (And your icon is a lovely illustration of that! *g*)
