Minor thoughts.

For [livejournal.com profile] mikeygs and [livejournal.com profile] swsa. Having actually read the thing now, here are some (positive!) thoughts:

First of all, in issue 1 Buffy misses sex. Ergo, she's not getting any.

Second, the B/X is obviously some sort of Amy-induced ultimate nightmare, and it is terribly painful to Buffy. And when we leave her Guy In Long Black Coat is telling her not to give up...

Thirdly, in the next issue 'Spike and Angel won't just be mentioned - next issue you're gonna get an image burned into your head that I suspect many of you are not gonna want to get rid of.'

Oh pretty please Mr Whedon let there be some kind of oil involved... *g*

Anyway, it's just a comic. And I wish the characters had nametags.

I'll get back to comments, I promise. Just a tad busy at the moment... *runs off again*

You know, I really don't care if Buffy has had sex with Xander on some prior occasion. She can have sex with whoever she wants. For one thing, it's pretty plain to me that if it did in fact happen, it didn't go well and Xander for one isn't keen to repeat the experiment.

Sensible man, that Xander.

That's how I was looking at it. Especially right after the collapse of Sunnydale where Buffy had just lost Spike and Xander had just lost Anya. I could totally buy them getting drunk over it and sleeping together and having it be so bad they never speak of it again.

Hee! You have my brain.

Actually I could see them going for comfort sex after Sunnydale collapses, waking up terribly embarrassed, and muttering a mutual "Let's never speak of this again, except to make the fans crazy."

Not without Marti looking over his shoulder, no.

Xander for one isn't keen to repeat the experiment.

It's not really his fault considering that Cordelia and Anya never gave him a second chance. But it's a Xander habbit to screw up a relationship. So it's easy to guess why X/B didn't work out, if there was actually a X/B to begin with. Maybe it's all just a wacky dream thing.

See, that's kind of what's really bugging me about this. The fact that all the lusting or what have you seems to be on Buffy's side. From a character standpoint, I just can't buy it. And so it leads me to gross fanboyish conclusions wherein I feel compelled to notice that Xander is drawn as being better looking than he ever was on the show, that he's a man in charge, giving orders, that we've had actual time dedicated to girls crushing on him, and now we have Buffy having Xander sex dreams and an implication that they might have slept together before and that Buffy wants to give it another go, but Xander's not interested. Wow. Maybe he'll get superpowers in Issue 3.

Well, since Xander started out as Joss's Marty Stu in many ways, it's not surprising that he's a big Marty Stu now that Joss has remembered his existence (which he pretty much forgot for most of s7).

I once dreamt about having sex with my best friend. The next day I told him about it and he was all, "Dude, eww!" I don't have feelings for him and he doesn't for me, and the thought about us getting together is a big no no. But damn he was great in dream bed. Hee.

I'd once read a fic about Buffy and Xander having sex after S6 just to feel. Just two friends being there for each other. Awesome fic it was.

My real wish if for Buffy to be single for at least one season. Because she's a better slayer when she is, IMO. And Xander/Renee forever!

Can I ask you a favor? I haven't read the whole issue, someone just posted the Xander parts in a comm, but I want to read the whole thing to understand what's going, is it okay if you uploaded it for me?

LOL. Sorry, didn't mean to be cryptic. I was whining because you promised me that the B/X would never happen, after I was freaking out over the "Muppety Odin" line.

I'm a bit calmer now.

Why why why do they continue to dress Willow so horribly???

I liked that Xander's head fell off in her hallucination, tho'. And his pajamas.

It's not really the dream sex that bugs me, but the implication that it happened for real. It just seems so fucking lame to me. I don't even go for comfort sex after Spike and Anya, 'cause you know what? Loss is Buffy's bag. She'd be downtrodden and mournful, but so much so that she gets drunk and sleeps with Xander? Nah.

I think more than anything my problem is that it's just so weak and corny of a concept and I respected Joss too much to think he'd go that route (assuming of course, that is the case). But like I said to swsa, he seems to be kicking balls to every section of the fandom that bitched for the last few years, so who knows.

And you know what? If I had to pick odds as to what Spike and Angel's contribution will be, a Buffy sex dream with the two of them is what I think is going to happen. I doubt they'll show up in reality 'cause that would answer questions and we know how Joss can be about that.

Yes, this is an interesting bit, isn't it? I wonder why Amy was all forthcoming with the details of her spell? Why she wanted Xander to give it a try?

I think it's pretty clear she is being purposely decietful, or dealing in half truths. It seems that she wanted Spike to be the one to give it a try, since she specified it would be someone who loved her passionately, and not necessarily someone she loved back. Could be Angel too, with this giant loophole in Buffy's feelings a perfect way to keep both B/A and B/S happy. I find it very annoying though, to think of Spike cast in this light, but the kiss would be worth it.

Amy was always on the edges of things in the series, but maybe she's made it her business to learn a thing or two about Buffy's love life since then.

Sorry, you can see I've been thinking about this. I'll wait for your post.

MMm. I have deep, deep hope that your icon is apropos to the "image burned in" that we have to look forward to.

Oh pretty please Mr Whedon let there be some kind of oil involved... *g* Yes, yes please. I definately need to get ready with the sacrifices.

Anyway, it's just a comic. And I wish the characters had nametags.
Hee, I think I've finally gotten used to it. I though despite the dorky dress, Willow was quite Willowy (and quite hot on the next cover, but that is a topic for another day), but I identified Andrew only by the big eyed dorky expression.

Hee! I was very confused in the first issue. Then I figured out the Buffy is the girl with boobs.
ext_7259: (Hee)

[identity profile] moscow-watcher.livejournal.com 2007-04-08 10:37 am (UTC)(link)
Wow.

Of course, Buffy's boobs have a history of their own - she was pretty well-endowed in season 1, then her boobs has mystically disappeared, then in comics, they re-appeared again. But I never thought that girls in comics may have *such*... ahem... watermelons. Or are these implanted miniature nuclear bombs?

Thanks for putting things into a perspective. :)
