Minor thoughts.

For [livejournal.com profile] mikeygs and [livejournal.com profile] swsa. Having actually read the thing now, here are some (positive!) thoughts:

First of all, in issue 1 Buffy misses sex. Ergo, she's not getting any.

Second, the B/X is obviously some sort of Amy-induced ultimate nightmare, and it is terribly painful to Buffy. And when we leave her Guy In Long Black Coat is telling her not to give up...

Thirdly, in the next issue 'Spike and Angel won't just be mentioned - next issue you're gonna get an image burned into your head that I suspect many of you are not gonna want to get rid of.'

Oh pretty please Mr Whedon let there be some kind of oil involved... *g*

Anyway, it's just a comic. And I wish the characters had nametags.

I'll get back to comments, I promise. Just a tad busy at the moment... *runs off again*

It's not really the dream sex that bugs me, but the implication that it happened for real. It just seems so fucking lame to me. I don't even go for comfort sex after Spike and Anya, 'cause you know what? Loss is Buffy's bag. She'd be downtrodden and mournful, but so much so that she gets drunk and sleeps with Xander? Nah.

I think more than anything my problem is that it's just so weak and corny of a concept and I respected Joss too much to think he'd go that route (assuming of course, that is the case). But like I said to swsa, he seems to be kicking balls to every section of the fandom that bitched for the last few years, so who knows.

And you know what? If I had to pick odds as to what Spike and Angel's contribution will be, a Buffy sex dream with the two of them is what I think is going to happen. I doubt they'll show up in reality 'cause that would answer questions and we know how Joss can be about that.

Yes, this is an interesting bit, isn't it? I wonder why Amy was all forthcoming with the details of her spell? Why she wanted Xander to give it a try?

I think it's pretty clear she is being purposely decietful, or dealing in half truths. It seems that she wanted Spike to be the one to give it a try, since she specified it would be someone who loved her passionately, and not necessarily someone she loved back. Could be Angel too, with this giant loophole in Buffy's feelings a perfect way to keep both B/A and B/S happy. I find it very annoying though, to think of Spike cast in this light, but the kiss would be worth it.

Amy was always on the edges of things in the series, but maybe she's made it her business to learn a thing or two about Buffy's love life since then.

Sorry, you can see I've been thinking about this. I'll wait for your post.
