And the very end of this article: Britain was led by Churchill then – it’s led by a Churchill tribute act now.
With coronavirus lockdown subduing VE Day, contrasts with 75 years ago were many and varied

'So, yes, it was natural for Britons to bask in the May sunshine and remember a brighter moment, to take comfort from it and draw strength from its lesson: that even the darkest hours end eventually. It made sense to come together and raise a glass for the day when we will meet again. But we are fighting a different war now, against an invisible enemy, and led by lesser men.'

(Sidebar: The wall-to-wall glorification of Churchill is also uncomfortable. Good and balanced article here: Winston Churchill: British hero or racist villain?)

If you feel like going on a walk in the Faroes, I have just the thing:

Drúgt sjónvarp

Literally people walking across mountains, with a camera. No soundtrack or fancy editing. Just hours long walks in beautiful nature. A bit like that log burning tv channel, but a bit more varied and breathtaking. :)
