Look what [livejournal.com profile] earth_vexer made for me! [insert much squeeing] (Please snag - sharing is a good thing!)

In case you're trying to place the images, they're from the beginning of 'Harm's Way' when Spike drops in to say goodbye. He and Angel snark as usual and have this exchange:

SPIKE: Yeah. Here's the thing. Could use a little walkin'-around money. How 'bout a few hundred?
ANGEL: How 'bout 'no'?
SPIKE: Typical, you cheap sod. Right, then. Settle for some wheels.
ANGEL: If it's gonna get you out of here faster, fine. Just not the Viper.
SPIKE: Viper it is, then. (Angel turns, starts walking away) Any message for Buffy?
ANGEL: (without looking back at Spike) Tell her you're a moron.

And then - Spike smiles *that* smile! ::points to icon::

Now - just a few days before these two were viciously fighting each other, and now... hmmm. That smile is gosh darn *cute* - almost affectionate.

See after discovering Lament for the Dead by [livejournal.com profile] stir_of_echoes about 1-2 months ago I was suddenly taken with the idea that their 'one time being intimate' happened post-Destiny (read the fic, it makes it *beautifully* plausible - the quiet counterpoint to the stormy battle). And then we get the sniping and uncomfortableness in 'Harm's Way' because... well they're NOT going to ever talk about it, are they? And Spike going off across the pond might actually be a good thing from Angel's POV. ;)

I like this theory a LOT! And of course JM's 'infatuated' was too good not to use. Heh.

(I still adore Spuffy btw. But since S/A *is* canon...)

Wishing a Happy, Happy Birthday to the lovely [livejournal.com profile] fishanwitt! Hope you have really good day Dear! *hugs*

And - while I'm here - a couple of recs:

[livejournal.com profile] paintedxlie has lots of icons (amongst others Buffy, Life on Mars, Doctor Who and Eddie Izzard!!!) and some v. pretty Spuffy headers here.

[livejournal.com profile] darkehart (v. new - go say hello!) has interesting thoughts and questions about why people write (fanfic).

Re. my post about S8, here's my argument, neat as you please:

DAVID FURY: There was a perceived notion, on both sides, I can say, between Sarah and Joss of ingratitude for both parties. Joss doesn't feel like Sarah's ever shown the proper amount of gratitude for what he's done for her and her career, and I think she feels the same way. That she feels she was never afforded the credit for Buffy's success and the gratitude from Joss.

I think they're both crazy. [laughs] They were the right people at the right time, it was a great partnership and it created a great series, and I truly think they both recognize this to some extent.

BtVS minus SMG just ain't the same. Takes two to tango and all that. And no, an artist is not in any way an adequate substitute. And I like comics. A lot! I'm currently trying to talk Darcy into getting me Spike Asylum and now I'm awfully tempted by 'Shadow Puppets' - having just read this interview with Brian Lynch where he talks about that series - and gives us a *tiny* glimpse of what to expect of S6 (Rirelbar qvrf! Be l'xabj... *qvrq*!). Squee!

So yes, I'm a Spike (Angel) girl - wherever he goes, I'll follow. :)

(Turning off comments, because I *so* shouldn't be here...)

ETA: If you want to decrypt the spoiler go here - or just read the article! ;)
