Happy Buffy Day! :)

Third time is supposed to be lucky, right? I keep being interrupted trying to write this teeniest of posts...

Oh and wasn't Buffy *cute* back then? ::points to icon::

Anyway, apparently people thought that my post yesterday meant that I was somehow upset over how the 'issue' was handled... this is not so. I guess it comes down to what I think of as the TGiQ factor - you expect a Monet and get Kermit instead. But hey - Kermit's funny! Also, it very clearly shows that *that* issue (you know the one!) really, really isn't an issue anymore! *is pleased*

Re. whether the comics are canon, then personally I think I'll happily use all the various info we get re. how the New Council operates, how many Slayers there are etc in my own fic, since details like that are boring to work out on my own.

And now I must go...

Phoenix. (Prequel to 'Cavemen'). Standalone. S/A.

Here comes my contribution to Buffy's birthday (not particularly deliberately btw, it just happened to be finished now), and - it is my first ever (purely) slashy fic. Dunno what that says about me...

It is a prequel to 'Because Cavemen Have Fire', but works as a standalone as well. Of course there's set-up for 'Cavemen', but there's also stuff that ties in with the (yet unwritten) sequel. I have too many plotbunnies.

Lots and lots of hugs to kathyh for all the help - and of course for the icon! Isn't it gorgeous? Damn but I could eat him up! Very sharable (so, even if you're allergic to slash you can get something out of this post! *g*).

Title: Phoenix (The place, not the bird.)
Setting: Around 4 months post-NFA, so approximately September.
Pairing: Spike/Angel.
Rating: Uh... 15? Nothing explicit, but it's kinda disturbing and I abuse pretty much every S/A cliché ever invented.
Disclaimer: They're not mine. If they were, Buffy wouldn't wear kevlar in the comic books!
Word count: 2000 words approx.
Feedback: *looks pleading* Pretty please? I'm kinda nervous, what with this being a 'new' avenue etc. *bites nails quietly*

My Buffy.

We watched 'Halloween' tonight and - as usual - it was wonderful and fun. There's even early Spuffiness in the way both Spike and Buffy neglect their lovers in favour of studying their opponents. But... as always I find that although early Buffy is lovely, I don't love her as much as I do later. And as we are almost through S5 in our re-watch I can now see exactly where the change occurs - it's when Joyce gets ill and Buffy has to take over as the adult, keeping things together. That's my Buffy. From mid-S5 and until the end, that's the girl my heart breaks for, more than S2 Buffy who has to kill Angel.

These are purely gut-reactions, but I think it has probably a lot to with the switch from child to grown-up. And probably why I also love AtS so much.

Anyway, I should go to bed... Love to you all! *hugs*
