Anyway, apparently people thought that my post yesterday meant that I was somehow upset over how the 'issue' was handled... this is not so. I guess it comes down to what I think of as the TGiQ factor - you expect a Monet and get Kermit instead. But hey - Kermit's funny! Also, it very clearly shows that *that* issue (you know the one!) really, really isn't an issue anymore! *is pleased*

Re. whether the comics are canon, then personally I think I'll happily use all the various info we get re. how the New Council operates, how many Slayers there are etc in my own fic, since details like that are boring to work out on my own.

And now I must go...

As for the Giant Dawn thing, its silly but the reason why it appears to have happened to her is actually a bit objectionable - the same old, same old, people have sex and something awful happens thing.

She sure was! And for this occasion I'm having my S1 Xander icon.

Best thing about these comics is that they'll help fanfic!wise, explaining the boring stuff we don't wanna think about is one of the biggest advantages. Plus, it's nice to see fandom alive again, even though I'm a little scared...

I didn't read the comics entry as I won't get to see it until later this week and I didn't want to be spoiled. But I have to say I'm also looking forward to the new details as well. There are so many great fanfics that have been written from even early in the series that got Jossed but it doesn't mean that they aren't still fun to read. After all, one line in Damaged spawned so much fic about Xander that was incredibly interesting. It doesn't matter to me if that gets retconned. I still enjoyed a lot of great fic as a result.

*nods* I think I once described the comics as 'back-up canon' - I think that's still my position. :)

I think the great thing about the comics is that you can choose to accept it as canon or shrug it off. It's written by Joss, so it certainly can be thought of as canon. On the other hand, if he retcons too much, we can always claim it's an AU and go on from there. :D

And Buffy was an adorable little munchkin back then. I always forget how cute she was before seven years and too strict a diet made SMG look rather haggard. ;P
