So, finished S14 of Classic Who, meaning I am 3/7 of the way through the Fourth Doctor. (He is endless and forever...) And just sometimes you come across stuff that, well. Let me illustrate:
THIRTEENTH DOCTOR: What are you doing?
RYAN: Fighting back.
THIRTEENTH DOCTOR: No. Guns, never use 'em.
Never? Really Doctor? Never?? I mean, the show is littered with examples, but this one is just a corker:
DOCTOR: Professor, you don't happen to have an elephant gun, do you?
LITEFOOT: Elephants? Why on Earth do you want an elephant gun?
DOCTOR: We're about to embark on a very dangerous mission.
LITEFOOT: Well, I've a Chinese fowling piece if that's any good. Used for duck, mainly.
LOOK AT IT:

To be fair, he wants it for shooting giant rats, but still... That gun is almost as big as him!!!
OTOH

Mind you, someone (on a podcast I think. Verity maybe?) observed that it's not that the Doctor doesn't USE weapons, the point is that he isn't *armed*. Which is a nice and important distinction.
~~~
What else? Oh yes, we watched The Great Gatsby last night (the Baz Luhrman version), which was pretty much exactly what I expected, but I like the more-is-more aesthetic and how every frame is just exquisite and over saturated, so it's a thumbs up for me.
This trailer has been one of my favourite things for a long time, and the movie is pretty much exactly that. And ye gods, the power of money (old and new) hasn't changed at all...
~~~
Finally, a very silly MCU tweet:
(No Endgame spoilers.)

i asked my roommate to name all of the marvel characters, she’s seen a good number of the movies but still doesn’t know anybody’s names and she said she feels like a failure pic.twitter.com/PPf3H7dzqi

I claimed Doctor Who was 66 the other day, so believe me I've not got a brain cell left to talk with here... ;-D
He's Four! I don't think it's possible not to like him.
Don't give fandom/humanity challenges like that! You can absolutely rely on the fact that there'll be some people out there who can't stand him, or are blah about him. I have met some over the years.
But, yeah. He is iconic for a reason.

My immediate thought to that was 'No, like 2000+, so...'

Good point. But he is VERY good. I don't know if he's my favourite, but he is just very watchable.
