I sort of want to write something about Brexit, but it'll probably be outdated within the hour, and ancient news by tomorrow.

(Not to mention all the other news from around the world. *hands*)

On the other hand, The Umbrella Academy is a thing that exists in the world, so not everything is bad. I am watching it for the second time, remembering what it's like to fall in love with a show and a [weird and wonderful] world and a whole bunch of characters. And what characters!! I can't even. There are SO MANY, and I love them all. (Even the stupid/annoying ones.) Although Five and Klaus were basically custom-made to hit alllll my buttons. Like ticking off everything on a list of 'Stuff that elisi loves'. That hasn't happened in a long, long time.

There are many excellent shows out there, but there are very, very few that hit me in that way, so this was a most wonderful surprise. ♥

ETA2: THE MUSIC! I can't believe I forgot to mention the music. The music (and how it's used) is just incredible!

And Hazel and Cha-Cha! And... I could go on. So many characters, so many different stories.

They are all so good! And that's the thing, it's not "My faves versus characters I don't like" it's "My faves and other characters who are also really interesting!"

I mean, I could happily hit Luther over the head for a solid week, but his actions absolutely make sense, and *his* arc is really good too! *squishes them all*

That's how I feel! I'm like, "Ugh, Luther", but also I feel for him, and he's got a good arc, and his choices make sense given what his life has been like!

They ALL got crewed up so much! *pets the precious babies* And Luther... He's sort of the worst equipped to deal with any of it.

It turns out that sometimes "Believe in your father and trust he knows what he's doing and has your best interests at heart" is a really shitty life choice!

UA is so great. I was happily surprised to find a show where all the characters - and there are so many - are wonderful, and am committing fic.

It's rare to get one character who hits me that hard, but TWO? And then all the others are fab too, it's this embarrassment of riches.

I love the quirkiness and the visual aesthetics, and that there is something fascinating about each and every character on the show.
Very much so. Plus, the whole verse just hands together beautifully - which probably has something to do with it being a comic book first - but I love the attention to detail.

I have the same feeling about all the characters - I like or love them all, with the exception of The Handler. (Cha-Cha's lucky she's played by Mary J. Blige, which ups her likability quotient for me.) I mourn Pogo ....

All this! Who are the people in charge of the Time Agency (I can't remember the actual name). Who decides what is 'supposed' to happen? So many delicious questions. (Dacry was very annoyed when the ending answered, like, nothing and just left everyone to wait for S2. *g*)

Same here. (Re-watching from the start is *heartbreaking* - Vanya comes back home and hugs him...) Although there is also the fact that HE IS NEVER EXPLAINED. I sort of love that, but on the other hand would love his background story.

(It's funny, because after the first or second ep I went to look up Luther, trying to work out where I had seen him before - The Eleventh Hour and Merlin, and am impressed cause his American accent is incredible, ditto Robert SHeehan - and accidentally read a 'spoiler' about how Vanya was actually the most powerful, and just laughed, because it was SO OBVIOUS.) Poor Vanya.

Actually I realised that I forgot to mention that - and the flashback when we see them fight the bankrobbers ('That's one badass stapler!', SO much the cocky teen), and when he first goes to the future and the world is all gone... The way he is so very much a child is INCREDIBLE, that boy has acting skills out of this world.

Well I have made four so far and if you want some, just help yourself (only got a couple on LJ so far, so go on the DW icon page) although I have more Klaus ones that I didn't upload cause they didn't turn out right. For more professional icons, these are the only ones I've found so far.
