I sort of want to write something about Brexit, but it'll probably be outdated within the hour, and ancient news by tomorrow.

(Not to mention all the other news from around the world. *hands*)

On the other hand, The Umbrella Academy is a thing that exists in the world, so not everything is bad. I am watching it for the second time, remembering what it's like to fall in love with a show and a [weird and wonderful] world and a whole bunch of characters. And what characters!! I can't even. There are SO MANY, and I love them all. (Even the stupid/annoying ones.) Although Five and Klaus were basically custom-made to hit alllll my buttons. Like ticking off everything on a list of 'Stuff that elisi loves'. That hasn't happened in a long, long time.

There are many excellent shows out there, but there are very, very few that hit me in that way, so this was a most wonderful surprise. ♥

ETA2: THE MUSIC! I can't believe I forgot to mention the music. The music (and how it's used) is just incredible!

For me, Five & Klaus are definitely THE ones, but Diego is ♥

And Hazel and Cha-Cha! And... I could go on. So many characters, so many different stories.

They are all so good! And that's the thing, it's not "My faves versus characters I don't like" it's "My faves and other characters who are also really interesting!"

I mean, I could happily hit Luther over the head for a solid week, but his actions absolutely make sense, and *his* arc is really good too! *squishes them all*

That's how I feel! I'm like, "Ugh, Luther", but also I feel for him, and he's got a good arc, and his choices make sense given what his life has been like!

They ALL got crewed up so much! *pets the precious babies* And Luther... He's sort of the worst equipped to deal with any of it.

It turns out that sometimes "Believe in your father and trust he knows what he's doing and has your best interests at heart" is a really shitty life choice!
