I sort of want to write something about Brexit, but it'll probably be outdated within the hour, and ancient news by tomorrow.

(Not to mention all the other news from around the world. *hands*)

On the other hand, The Umbrella Academy is a thing that exists in the world, so not everything is bad. I am watching it for the second time, remembering what it's like to fall in love with a show and a [weird and wonderful] world and a whole bunch of characters. And what characters!! I can't even. There are SO MANY, and I love them all. (Even the stupid/annoying ones.) Although Five and Klaus were basically custom-made to hit alllll my buttons. Like ticking off everything on a list of 'Stuff that elisi loves'. That hasn't happened in a long, long time.

There are many excellent shows out there, but there are very, very few that hit me in that way, so this was a most wonderful surprise. ♥

ETA2: THE MUSIC! I can't believe I forgot to mention the music. The music (and how it's used) is just incredible!

Just mind-bogglingly good acting!! *DANCES* And Klaus is so damaged and yet DEEP, but so damaged...and he lets people think he's just a screw-up - and never lets on about Ben being by his side ALL THIS TIME.

Seriously, the kid who plays Five? Just mind-bogglingly good acting!! *DANCES*
While we were watching the final episode, Darcy literally paused the ep in the middle of a big fight scene, turned to me and said: 'You know, I have never seen him as a kid.' It's *incredible*.

And Klaus is so damaged and yet DEEP, but so damaged...and he lets people think he's just a screw-up - and never lets on about Ben being by his side ALL THIS TIME.
And when Luther says 'I wish I could be more like you, you always seem so carefree' and Klaus is just 'No no no, you have NO IDEA' and ye gods, Luther is just so innocent (well he is) and Klaus so broken. MY HEART. (And Ben. I want so much more Ben!)

I actually saw Five as a kid...once. When they were having dinner and he was arguing traveling through time as well as space travel. That was VERY teenager...and he paid dearly for it, poor thing.

Poor Luther is VERY innocent, isn't he?? Klaus and Five definitely had my heart, though. With Ben, Pogo and Mom as very close contenders. OMG...

I actually saw Five as a kid...once. When they were having dinner and he was arguing traveling through time as well as space travel. That was VERY teenager...and he paid dearly for it, poor thing.
Actually I realised that I forgot to mention that - and the flashback when we see them fight the bankrobbers ('That's one badass stapler!', SO much the cocky teen), and when he first goes to the future and the world is all gone... The way he is so very much a child is INCREDIBLE, that boy has acting skills out of this world.

Well I have made four so far and if you want some, just help yourself (only got a couple on LJ so far, so go on the DW icon page) although I have more Klaus ones that I didn't upload cause they didn't turn out right. For more professional icons, these are the only ones I've found so far.
