I wish I could think of what to say, and there are endless articles extolling Buffy's virtues (which are all good, but none quite reflect ME). I guess above all she gave me fandom, fic, meta, all you lot... ♥
ETA: Oh, and if anyone's curious, here is My Buffy History. :)

(Also it seems as if I don't have a Spike icon uploaded on DW yet. I must amend this.)

Now, I still feel old, but I also feel fortunate that I have met so many fantastic people in fandom. *raises a glass*

And so say all of us...
The second was an appreciation of the positive influence the show has been on media and society. Which was pretty impressive at the crack of why am I awake in the morning.
*is impressed* And yes, so many articles. Made me happy. :)

I'm so glad I wrote it down when I did, since lots of it has now been lost in the mists of time and when I re-read it myself I go 'Oh yeah, that was a thing...'
And then in Lovers Walk, Spike said " I haven't had a woman in weeks" and went into vamp face. That's when it clicked for me.
Mmmm. It's always Spike isn't it? ;)

I stopped watching after season 5 (popping in from time to time for things like the musical and the final episode), but I still rate seasons 1-3 among the best television I've ever watched.

It's holding up well though! *pets show*

Funny isn't it - I liked the show well enough in those early years, but it was S6 and S7 which made me into the obsessive fan I became. :)

Ah, the Doctor Who argument. ;) 'The only REAL Doctor is [insert whichever Doctor was around when speaker was 8 years old]' *g*
I watched from the start, and enjoyed it very much, but it didn't grab me until those later seasons. Possibly because I wasn't a teenager (and had never been an American teenager) and couldn't identity with those particular issues. Although generally I think it's because I fall for certain types of stories. And Buffy didn't tell those stories until later on.
