RL has been busy...

So, way back in autumn, Darcy asked me what I wanted for my 40th.

I said a new floor (preferably wooden!) for the dining room (as we have lived with The World's Ugliest Carpet ever since we moved in 10+ years ago). He did not like this answer, as that would mean A LOT OF WORK.

I said: fine, forget it.

However, after a while he decided that it was a good idea, and the floor has slowly become reality over the past months. He bought the wood, and tongue & grooved it, and eventually levelled the floor and laid the wood and then sanded it and waxed it. SO MUCH WORK.

But oh, it was worth it. This was what I came home to last Monday (the last image - he took pictures as he finished it):







As he bought enough wood for the front room also, we will at some point get that done also. Ideally we'd also have decorated the dining room, as it sorely needs it - but hey, maybe we'll win the lottery one of these days.

But for now, this has been enough - I have spent all weekend just *cleaning* because there is dust EVERYWHERE. But oh, so worth it. <333

And that's the main reason I've not been around much.

Yes, it was worth it, the floor is much easier to clean now. Of course the downside is, that you actually SEE the dirt much better LOL

It was my living room. I'm trying to remember how they managed to get my sofa outside. Drawing a blank here. Or maybe we just shoved it from one corner to the other? I used the opportunity of an empty room to paint the walls.

True... The cat comes in with muddy paws and I am literally cleaning up behind him. ;)

We would totally have done some decorating, except it's all wallpapered, and to take it all down and put new paper up was too much work... /o\

I have the kind of wallpaper that is painted over with white. So we just painted over it. You can do that two or three times I believe before it has to come off.

Lucky I don't have any animals then LOL (if you don't count my plush cows and sheep)

Ours is patterned and has a decorative bit in the middle, so it'd all have to come down. Wish we had something like you!
