Nope, it wasn't a bad dream. Country still fucked

Oh and 2tn wiped off the markets.

(I should get off the internet, I'll just get angrier & more depressed...)

EU Referendum: #NotInMyName trends as country wakes up to Brexit (3 million of us who couldn't vote. THAT WOULD HAVE SWUNG THE VOTE. Not to mention the young people. Both my 14 and my 17 year old are MILES more informed than the average adult.)

Remember that time Nigel Farage said 52-48 votes should lead to second referendum?
(I think I hate Nigel Farage more than is entirely healthy...)

Oh, and these ones hit close to home...

And finally: 26 Brexit Tweets Guaranteed To Make You Laugh, Cry, Or Probably Both

ETA: Unlike Trump, Republicans Only Supported The Brexit After The Vote.
OK, Republicans. NOW IT'S PERSONAL!!!

I wanted to use this, but I fear the stinging force of the rebuke would be lost on Brits:

I honestly thought Tony Blair was the PM who did the most work on creating peace in Northern Ireland. Hats off to Cameron, in one fell swoop he's actually managed to get people thinking changing to a united Ireland would be Good. That is literally the only positive after this fiasco.

These tweets were brilliant. Spot on. And made me that much sadder...

*HUGS*

I'm with you. Yesterday was a shock. I do hope your politicians find a solution and I hope that Cameron gets fucked back by a pig tbh.

There's a part of me that's kinda angry at the voters who've been like "I voted #Leave, but I didn't think we'd actually leave! D:"

And I'm like- "THEN WHY DIDN'T YOU VOTE #REMAIN?!" >:|

Yep, those tweets are fantastic. They'd be so hilarious if they also weren't so depressing too...

Just wanted to let you know that a Canadian is so bummed. Years ago Quebec narrowly voted to remain in Canada...it was a good decision, but holy heck, was it harrowing :-(

I second this. I'm so sorry for everything the UK is about to lose. It's a terrible time. Many hugs for you and your family.

It probably won't come to anything, but there already is a petition for a revote to overturn the referendum http://www.rawstory.com/2016/06/do-over-more-than-1-million-signatures-collected-in-uk-calling-for-a-re-vote-on-leaving-eu/ The petition, created on Friday, has already gained far more than the 100,000 signatures required for it to be considered by the U.K. parliament for a debate and has caused the parliament website to crash several times due to high demand. Note: It already has a million votes, so saying it's over the 100,000 is an understatement.

I'm in the U.S. and can't do anything except send hugs. HUGS :(

Despite making three posts about it, I find I'm having trouble finding anything to say. *shares misery*

I mean, even if things magically work out in some way and it's all fine, we've still inevitably made the recession worst. I'm here in the NE (I think a little way above you?) and the people are celebtratory and I'm just thinking you are the ones who are going to get stuffed above all others in this country because nothing has moved economically here since 2008. Which is why they were angry enough to smash things. Just, people, not those things.

Now it's done, we can only hope that it's a wake up call to improve things for an awful lot of people I suppose. We can try.

Some of those tweets were hilarious! That one about not giving up seats on the tube to the elderly and the one about replacing David Cameron with a cat.

I saw one on my Twitter timeline, right after the results came out, that was about what the "Seinfeld" character's reaction would be and I LOL and then felt bad.
