It occurred to me last night that the rest of the world doesn't get to see our adverts. And this is very sad, because some of them are just awesome. My current favourites are the ones for Moneysupermarket. The top two under the cut. Awesomeness doesn't come much better.

Hmmm..the Brits don't have the same gender issues the Americans appear to have.. interesting. No, we don't have commercials like that. I wish we had your commercials, I would fast-forward less.

I wouldn't say that. But the adverts definitely subvert gender issues on a massive scale - which is why they stand out so much. I guess the difference is that Brits love to poke at any kind of stereotype.

It may be difference in sense of humor? I prefer the British sense of humor to the American (which appears to be much broader and cruder). Particularly in regards to satire, the British seem to be more biting, yet subtle, while American is more...over-the-top.

I often found Monty Python hilarious, but Saturday Night Live has always been a bit hit or miss for me.

No, that definitely makes sense.

Mind you, a lot of British comedy is just stupid jokes and double entendres. But definitely biting.
