The Original Character Interview Meme
Snagged from my flist. Interview with Alex, just turned 21, at more or less the current point in Dating. (Some of the answers would change depending on when he was in this story/his life, so this is a very specific snapshot. Mind you, he wasn't impressed with the questions, so if you want to ask him anything, go ahead!)
1. Care to introduce yourself?
I’m the Seeker, the last Time Lord. Well - the youngest. Of four. Also known as Alexander Saxon, or 'Alex' for short. Too much of my father’s son for my own liking, but not evil or insane. Also smarter. And more sensible. (Well I'm more sensible than the other three put together. Whether that is nature or nurture I'm still trying to work out.)
2. Job or Occupation?
Currently - student. Generally - I want to know everything. And I like building and creating things.
3. If you had a vacation, what it'll be?
I’m planning something for my girlfriend. So it’ll have to be a secret for now.
4. If you traveled in time, what history would you change?
I do travel in time, and I don’t change history.
5. Look! A mecha that looks kinda like you! *points to the mecha*
Fascinating. I wonder who made it... Probably my future self, if I had to hazard a guess.
6. What are you going to do with it?
Take it apart, find out how it works and whether I made it myself and why. Then I’d store it away in case I ever needed it.
7. Fwoosh! *throws the character's favorite food on their face*
I’m never inviting you round for dinner.
8. What's your favorite music genre?
Depends which era I’m in. Not Wagner.
9. What is your favorite mythical creature?
When I was little I wanted to create a pegasus.
10. What's your favorite musical instrument?
Don’t really have one. I can play just about anything, but I’m not a musician. Ask me again when I'm older and have developed more of a personal taste.
11. What's your favorite weather?
Not too bothered by weather. But something that’s not wet and cold.
12. Do you believe in... Santa Claus?
No, but I find the concept intriguing.
13. Look at the person on this mirror! *pulls in a mirror, which shows the Opposite Version of the character* This, is the anti version of yourself, from another universe!
I always wondered... *tilts head* Dad must love you.
14. Have a cake! *cakes the character with a big cake that contains the character's favorite flavor*
Seriously. Never having you round for dinner. Blathereen have better table manners.
15. What's the worst and humiliating thing that happened to you?
I’m not going to answer that.
16. If you had a pet, what it's gonna be?
I’ve got a small pterosaur. It’s called Princess Leia.
17. What's your favorite song?
Right now... I’m not sure it’s my favourite, but the song that I identify with at the moment is called ‘The Boy With Two Hearts’ by the group The Boy Least Likely To. (A bit retro, I suppose.) Funnily enough not for the hearts thing (although that’s very serendipitous) but more for the overall sentiment. (Lyrics here.)
18. Who's your favorite artist?
Not sure. Haven’t met a lot yet. Or did you mean whose work I like?
19. What will you do if you found a treasure chest containing treasure?
If possible trace the rightful owner and return it. Otherwise probably give it to my girlfriend.
20. What creature have you always wanted to be?
A cat!
21. Here's another mirror! *pulls in another mirror, which shows the Steampunk Version of the character* This is the steampunk version of yourself, from a universe of the age of steam!
Too much hero coat. And you seem to misunderstand... Oh nevermind.
22. Do you believe in someone or something?
Not really. This is probably a flaw.
23. Want me to end this meme now?
But we just started. And you’ve not asked me any really interesting questions yet...
24. Ya sure?
Now that’s just a nonsequiteur. Do people normally say yes?
25. Then tag someone before you leave... via cannon!!! *shows a fancy cannon aiming to an open window, which leads to a large, comfy mattress*
Redjay, I hope you will oblige. But I won’t use the cannon, unless you want to try it? (I've been fired out of a cannon when I was in the circus, that was fun) See? You never even asked about that! Does anyone else have any questions?

[Older Seeker - age 150 - dropping by secretly so his younger self can't see: The Eleventh looks like he's twelve! It's fantastic! I've spent days teasing him, as I look old enough to be his dad! Don't know if he's more reasonable though, for now he's just been exceedingly grumpy. Although that's probably my doing...]

(There was that damn prophecy of Babushka's. I still get flashbacks now and again. *shivers* I'm looking forward to being older and not have to worry all the time. A few regenerations down the road I'm sure I'll have a better grip.)

Hmmm ... not worshiped as a god ... but for knowledge? So vague ... multiple bodies ... perhaps different incarnations ... blond hair ... young ... red hair ... older ...
I'm sorry. It's just a blur.
I see the Doctor. The incarnations that I know as Ten and Eleven with you. There's a blip that I know is Twelve .. but his face is unclear. Eleven's time is growing short. I HATE knowing that!!!!
I knew when Ten's time was short and over. I don't know when it is for you. You could have centuries with Ten to go. I guess I can't spoil something I can't see?
Moving the thread over for more questions ...
Your resonance should be similar to mine but feels more gold. If I can isolate your essence....
[Pondering logistics]
Well, I can promise you one thing. I will try to establish better contact. Best I can figure out, you are a half sibling ....in another reality.
English, and most languages of non-time aware species, are very limited. However, you rarely want to have to use the stabilized-past-future-imperfect tense of a verb .... unless your are describing a disaster of Master/Doctor proportions.
Alex, you sound like you're doing just fine. Follow Jack's heart. The Doctor's enthusiasm. And, Father's determination. Your own search for the truth will guide you.
...
And do you know his reply?! "What's seven times six?"
OF ALL THE NERVE!!!!!
He is a darn tardis and my closest friend and companion. I'm glad every day that I met him and let him into my life 500 years ago ... or so ....
{checks to make sure he's not reading along}
It's very hard to have privacy around here. It's almost as if I were symbiotically linked to a sentient coral. :)
***
As long as you have silver grass, it'll remind me enough of home. *sighs* I was always a home person. Life chose otherwise. And now, home's gone. I saw it locked away. [looks sad for a moment] Anyhow, next question ...
***
41- What is your biggest accomplishment to date? What are you most proud of in life? And, the flip side, what is your biggest disappointment?
Re: ...
And I'm not really ready for a commitment of TARDIS-like proportions. For now, my little ship will do me just fine.
Re. my planet then I have red grass. The leaves on the trees are silver (when the sun rises, it looks like the forests are on fire...) Are you just getting forgetful, or was your Gallifrey different?
Biggest accomplishment? Has to be my planet. I know I was just going on about how basic it still is, but - a few years ago it was a barren rock and now it's a living world. There is not a single thing there that I didn't create myself (I had help, obviously, but I did all the work) and I can't begin to explain what it means to me.
Biggest disappointment - how things ended with Allie. Like you were saying about self-fulfilling prophecies. (Not disappointed in *her* you understand. But I come from a line of people with rubbish relationships...)
no subject
{Maggie: I can't believe you let me type the wrong grass color!!!
Adam: Well, you insisted you didn't want me to read along ...
Maggie: Am I getting that forgetful?
Adam: It has been over 100 years since you set foot on Gallifrey. And that was a previous incarnation. And, you were blind so much of the end ... *pats her shoulder*}
*comes back to keyboard* feeling a little sadder*]
Yes, Seeker. I do have my grass and leaf colors reversed in my head. This incarnation has never seen Gallifrey and my previous one hadn't been able to see it with her own eyes for centuries. I'm sure the planet is lovely though. A lot of bad things happened during the Time War ... any one who fought had their memories written and rewritten enough times that I'm surprised any one came out with intact anything.
Things have only ended with Allie if you want them to have ended. No. I'm not advocating stalking or any obsessed behavior. ... I believe she'd want a chance at the truth. No lying by commission or omission. One time only deal. See if she really wants the truth, as you know it.
Time Lord's are rubbish with relationships. Myself included. Commoners were so much better. I sometimes wonder if my mother would be disappointed with how I turned out. My last real relationship ended when my husband took our granddaughter and went renegade. He was under a burn notice and it was the only way to save them both. I stayed behind, having stronger political ties, and did what I needed to for their safety.
42- Do you have any questions about Gallifrey ... as I lived it? Apparently, I am no longer the expert I remember being.
no subject
As for Allie, then well. It's up to her. She knows the truth now, and if by some miracle she decides that she's fine with it after all, I'll be the happiest person in the universe. but I'm not holding my breath. (I'm very pragmatic, yet another upshoot of growing up with people who've been to hell and back. Hope seems a lovely thing, but the damage it does is considerable.)
And you *are* the Doctor's first wife. Fascinating. Esp since you were obviously not married Omega first. (The records I have managed to wangle my way to are... less than reliable.) Is the thing about the 13 kids true though?
I'll get back to you with questions. Need to think first.
no subject
A lot of the Doctor's back story revolves around the concept that he is or is part of the Other. One legend has the Other jumping into the loom that the Doctor came from. Another has him with hundreds of children. Another ....
Remember rule number one. The only person who knows most of the truths about his early life is our father. *said with a light shrug* I don't have the looming records from Lungbarrow, so I can't be definitive on his birth. But, I always understood that he was born and not loomed, which was a Commoner practice. I, myself, was not loomed but am from a family of loomers. Sexuality, marriage, relationships ... that could be a 100-year course in its own right. *chuckles*
I was never married to Omega. That would make me VERY old. *laughs* I actually can't remember how old I would have to be. Adam says that I don't want to know. You'll have to meet Adam sometime. He redefined cutting edge in tardis science. That's actually where I spent a couple hundred years on Gallifrey. Working with the CIA/High Council's, tardis program. He is a perfect mimic. Currently, he looks like an actor in an American drama ... Matt Bomer. As long as he doesn't go out in public like that ... *laughs*
I really prefer not to talk about my children. I did a lot of things I'm not proud of to keep them safe and ended up losing them anyway. Time Lord politics were not designed for the faint of hearts.

Re: Moving the thread over for more questions ...
And yes, I am the Golden Boy. (I answer to that as well. It's corny, but what can you do? /rhetorical question)
Better contact would be nice. I'll see what I can do, but I am well aware that it's beyond me at the moment.
And very true. English is a nice shorthand.
Plus, good advice. Which I think I've sort of been following already, except I've not actually thought it out in that much detail.

Having followed her conversation with you, I came up with some questions of my own. I hope you don't mind the intrusion.
1. Having grown-up with humans, do you ever regret the transient natures of their lives?

This might have been a tangent, I'm trying not to think of certain individuals.
