The Original Character Interview Meme
Snagged from my flist. Interview with Alex, just turned 21, at more or less the current point in Dating. (Some of the answers would change depending on when he was in this story/his life, so this is a very specific snapshot. Mind you, he wasn't impressed with the questions, so if you want to ask him anything, go ahead!)
1. Care to introduce yourself?
I’m the Seeker, the last Time Lord. Well - the youngest. Of four. Also known as Alexander Saxon, or 'Alex' for short. Too much of my father’s son for my own liking, but not evil or insane. Also smarter. And more sensible. (Well I'm more sensible than the other three put together. Whether that is nature or nurture I'm still trying to work out.)
2. Job or Occupation?
Currently - student. Generally - I want to know everything. And I like building and creating things.
3. If you had a vacation, what it'll be?
I’m planning something for my girlfriend. So it’ll have to be a secret for now.
4. If you traveled in time, what history would you change?
I do travel in time, and I don’t change history.
5. Look! A mecha that looks kinda like you! *points to the mecha*
Fascinating. I wonder who made it... Probably my future self, if I had to hazard a guess.
6. What are you going to do with it?
Take it apart, find out how it works and whether I made it myself and why. Then I’d store it away in case I ever needed it.
7. Fwoosh! *throws the character's favorite food on their face*
I’m never inviting you round for dinner.
8. What's your favorite music genre?
Depends which era I’m in. Not Wagner.
9. What is your favorite mythical creature?
When I was little I wanted to create a pegasus.
10. What's your favorite musical instrument?
Don’t really have one. I can play just about anything, but I’m not a musician. Ask me again when I'm older and have developed more of a personal taste.
11. What's your favorite weather?
Not too bothered by weather. But something that’s not wet and cold.
12. Do you believe in... Santa Claus?
No, but I find the concept intriguing.
13. Look at the person on this mirror! *pulls in a mirror, which shows the Opposite Version of the character* This, is the anti version of yourself, from another universe!
I always wondered... *tilts head* Dad must love you.
14. Have a cake! *cakes the character with a big cake that contains the character's favorite flavor*
Seriously. Never having you round for dinner. Blathereen have better table manners.
15. What's the worst and humiliating thing that happened to you?
I’m not going to answer that.
16. If you had a pet, what it's gonna be?
I’ve got a small pterosaur. It’s called Princess Leia.
17. What's your favorite song?
Right now... I’m not sure it’s my favourite, but the song that I identify with at the moment is called ‘The Boy With Two Hearts’ by the group The Boy Least Likely To. (A bit retro, I suppose.) Funnily enough not for the hearts thing (although that’s very serendipitous) but more for the overall sentiment. (Lyrics here.)
18. Who's your favorite artist?
Not sure. Haven’t met a lot yet. Or did you mean whose work I like?
19. What will you do if you found a treasure chest containing treasure?
If possible trace the rightful owner and return it. Otherwise probably give it to my girlfriend.
20. What creature have you always wanted to be?
A cat!
21. Here's another mirror! *pulls in another mirror, which shows the Steampunk Version of the character* This is the steampunk version of yourself, from a universe of the age of steam!
Too much hero coat. And you seem to misunderstand... Oh nevermind.
22. Do you believe in someone or something?
Not really. This is probably a flaw.
23. Want me to end this meme now?
But we just started. And you’ve not asked me any really interesting questions yet...
24. Ya sure?
Now that’s just a nonsequiteur. Do people normally say yes?
25. Then tag someone before you leave... via cannon!!! *shows a fancy cannon aiming to an open window, which leads to a large, comfy mattress*
Redjay, I hope you will oblige. But I won’t use the cannon, unless you want to try it? (I've been fired out of a cannon when I was in the circus, that was fun) See? You never even asked about that! Does anyone else have any questions?

Anyhow, you tolerate the wrongness willingly. I'm sure Jack appreciates that about you.
no subject
Yes. Yes he is. A lot. Often, even. *makes the face of kids the world over when confronted with the folly of their elders*
[Author comment: This too - the way the Seeker sees Jack, his 'big brother' - is dealt with in an upcoming chapter. Hence no response at this juncture.]

I do realize that there is not sufficient genetic material to recreate significant numbers of Gallifreyians at this time. However, being the true last. ... it's always a harsh reality.
no subject
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to be here, but I wouldn't wish my fate on anyone. It's not easy being the last of your kind, knowing that you'll only get more lonely as time goes on... Besides, I'd end up like Cassandra. What if my offspring decided to have offspring of their own? The end result would be watered-down, semi-Timelords, which is not something I could live with. (I've inherited far too much of my father's arrogance I'm afraid.)
no subject
*ponders a moment * Apparently Father didn't have that concern .... *said largely to self *
If a significant Gallifreyian gene pool were discovered, .....
Hmmm. ... *smiles * not sure where I was going before my train of thought derailed.
32- where do you see yourself in 1,000 years?
no subject
And where do I see myself? Hmmm. Interesting question. Older and wiser I hope. And with masses and masses of acquired knowledge.

Father's plans are complete universal domination across all time streams and realities.
*laughs *
You are young.... but you seem very wise. :)
33- Does the Doctor's eventual true death worry you? My main concern would be the lack of stability for Father. He depends heavily on the Doctor, even though he'll never admit it.
no subject
Well yes, I've known that since I was born. (Literally.) However, I am not sure how he envisaged it - did he plan for more children? Would he try to create a New Gallifrey? If so - how?
You are young.... but you seem very wise. :)
Thank you. I've had an unusual childhood, and was rarely able to shy away from harsh realities.

Yes. And for exactly the reason you mention. Whatever will I do with him? Should I lock him up? That seems cruel, but on the other hand I have neither the inclination nor the time to babysit him 24/7... *deep sigh*
no subject
Theta has always hoped for that .... I am not so hopeful. Maybe in his first thirteen incarnations ... but the two body snatches .... and granting of another thirteen ....
Hope dwindles. And, I agree. Indefinite imprisonment is cruel and would not help his mental status.

34- Who would you get relationship advice from? Oh ... and would I mention that you need good/solid advice. :D
no subject
And I've no idea. Jack, probably. Or Ianto. Seems a little late now though.

I once told Allison that I was raised by a hero, a villain and a secret government agent.
Now Dad just wants me to be his very own little Mini-Me, his perfect partner in crime, and the Doctor mostly tries to make sure I don't go down that path. Jack is the only one without an agenda, which is why he's the only one I trust and confide in. To a great extent I am raising myself I suppose - trying to work out what I believe for myself, what feels right. Which isn't easy.
As for the Gallifrey part, then that's something I often wonder about myself. I'd certainly enjoy a more structured approach to my education, and having peers that could be actual peers and not having to lie all the time. On the other hand, I've got more opportunities and freedom than anyone my age could ever have dreamed of.
no subject
I am curious by nature myself. I gather, from your chosen name, that you are too.
36- Do you see Jack and the Doctor's great coats as a form of armor against the enemies?
37- Do you think you could have been raised with siblings? I had none until after I was adopted by a great house. And then they weren't true siblings.
no subject
And you know, I'd never thought of their coats in that light. I suppose that makes sense. Actual armour would make more sense though. Not that I can't appreciate a good symbolic gesture, but when you're constantly courting danger it seems prudent to take precautions. They're very brave (I don't think I could ever lead their kind of life), but they're quite frankly not that good at thinking ahead.
As for siblings, then I figure if Dad hadn't been stopped I'd have plenty. It would be nice to have someone else like me around... *sigh*
no subject
I'll have to check. Right reality .... you may have an older sibling.
