Life she is good! :)
The days are just flying away at the moment. Sadly they don't bring any tidiness with them, just more chaos, but then Darcy is getting lots of stuff done, like putting up the baby's cot and assembling clever storage for the children's room, which includes a slide! They've been playing on it all morning, while I've been attempting to create order. I sort of succeeded. ;)
Yesterday evening we went round to Darcy's aunt and her husband, where we were joined by more family and had a very lovely time indeed. It's fun to get dressed up, I don't do it very often.
And a big thank you to
the_royal_anna for the card :)
Oh and - lest I forget - you should all go and read
12daysspillyria, which the brilliant authors are re-posting! The perfect Christmas fic. :)
The children are a bit better, although Litte Miss M still has a bit of a temperature. She was feeling very blah yesterday and came and sat on my lap while I wasidly surfing LJ doing important work on the computer. We started talking about Doctor Who, so I showed her the vids I had saved (all by
the_royal_anna, hee!) and she enjoyed them very much. Then she asked what the First Doctor was like, so we looked him up on the BBC's website and discovered that there were loads and loads of clips to watch from all the old Doctors. She then spent a very enjoyable afternoon watching them! :) At one point I asked if it was fun and she replied 'No - It was amazing!' She is *so* turning into a fangirl! Yay! :D (She's only 7, so still much too young for Buffy, but I reckon Doctor Who is a good starting place.) And did I mention that Impish Girl wanted a Sonic Screwdriver for Christmas? She has been buzzing it in people's faces for nearly a week now, which is... a trying experience! Oh and she keeps forgetting what it's called and says it's her 'Exotic screwdriver'. :)
I think that's all for now, much love to you all and have a fabulous New Year in case I don't see you before then. You've all brightened 2005 more than you could ever know. ::hugs you all::

The mental image of an "exotic screwdriver"is beyond priceless. If I could do things like that, I'd make an icon.
I wanted to share with you (having read your bio) that many of my sharpest, smartest, best, and most favorite students are returning stay-at-home moms. We all love them--they are so serious and enthusiastic, and usually very witty. They don't have some of the same hangups (as one said, "at this point, we've had sex for a while") as some of their younger peers and (surprisingly to some) are open to more new ideas, from Hegel to radical feminism (their husbands may not love me as much as they do. . .). One of the top students in my critical theory course was the mom of 7 (!)--oldest 24, with 1 child, youngest 2. The only problem was that before she would say brilliant things she would apologize and put herself down a little. Old habits die hard. On another note, many of these moms are deeply religious, which I sometimes make the mistake of thinking equals closedminded (well, in my own defense, in this country, it often does mean that) but these gals teach me (and help me teach others) that deep faith can expand to accomodate the new, can meet challenges, etc. .
Anyway, all this by way of saying, I'm sure you'll be one of them when you do go back to school, whether it's soon or when your youngest is 24. :) Happy new year.

I know what you mean, but I guess anyone who reads vampire porn escapes that label anyway! *g*
Happy New Year to you too!

Checked out the clips myself great! My brother used to have virtually all the old Dr WHo's on video and we used to watch them as kids all the time.

And now the baby is here and I missed her arrival. So this is by way of a very belated 'welcome to the world' baby message too.
