Hello 51st Century, I see you're drawing nearer!
I believe this is relevant to our interests:
IAmA guy whose bromance has turned into a gay relationship, yet neither of us admit it.
Goodness knows if it's real or made up, but it's rather fabulous either way, and the comments are GOLD. Both the silly ones, and those that are more reflective. (Not to mention the ones which are True Story Slash Fics... *raises eyebrow* Either way, they're entertaining). Plus the commenters seem to be pretty evenly men and women (most of them straight(-ish)), which is even better.

Same here! :)
I would be pretty upset if my boyfriend slept in the same bed of his former lover whenever I wasn't around, regardless of gender. And/or would be like "fuck it, just BE TOGETHER." But anyway
*nods* It's lovely as a story, but if it's true, it's... problematic, quite simply because they aren't honest.

(Anonymous) 2011-10-29 03:28 pm (UTC)(link)Yep. But I don't really blame them. Not to get all Serious Business on what is a lovely little thread, but it's really sad that our society is such that someone can seriously think that continuing to be with their same-sex lover while ostensibly being in a relationship with a woman ISN'T cheating. (To be fair, if I was the woman in this situation, I think I'd be MORE forgiving than if he was doing the same thing with another woman, for this reason. I'd still dump him, but I'd like to think I'd get that the issue is as much about his own struggle to embrace his identity/that relationship as it is about me).
The 51st century can't get here fast enough!

This. There was another one (I think - there were a few I might get them mixed up), where they were VERY VERY close and had now moved apart (due to work etc) and knew they could never pursue it any further because their circle would just never accept it. How awful is that?
