A few thoughts on the trailer...
Random observations. Plus why I think RTD is totally shipping Doctor/River. ;)
ETA: Just remembered that I was going to use this icon. If you can't read the text, it says 'The Doctor in the TARDIS doesn't know' - I chuckle every time I see it.

CANON! CANON! CANON! CANON! CANON! CANON! CANON! CANON!
(This will never get old!)
~~~
For anyone still confused, 'Ee by gum' is a Yorkshire colloquialism (very common around here), and the best description I've come across is this one, by
petrichor_fizz:
'Ee by gum' does have a meaning but it's not very specific. It's basically an expression of mild surprise or bewilderment, but also a sort of catch-all, like 'gosh'. So you could say 'ee by gum!' when your whippet gets bitten by a ferret wearing a flat cap, or 'ee by gum I'm right weary' if you've had a bit of a long day.
~~~

I am 99% sure that these two images are linked.
~~~
"Fear me. I've killed hundreds of Time Lords."
"Fear me. I've killed all of them."
This is v. v. awesome. Partly because he has a wonderful way of being quietly threatening, but also because there is a certain eye-roll factor to the way he delivers the line. I can pretty much hear him thinking: "Oh you're evil, I get it. My ex-boyfriend was like that all the time! It's neither big nor clever, so just stop it already."
~~~

Can anyone see what it is Amy has on a string around her neck? My mind immediately went to S3 and TARDIS keys... Apparently it's a pen on a lanyard!
~~~
ANYWAY. Lots more I could talk about, but instead I shall take the opportunity to link together RTD and Doctor/River. Like so:
you see I have this theory that, rather like Star Trek's Trill we are placing Human terms like husband/wife on a species(') ~ as I'm not sure it's clear that River is necessarily human; though certainly a time-traveller, that lives multi-generationally, for want of any better term I can come up with off the top of my head, so making such terms rather loose in interpretation; even meaningless in Human terms.
Would Trill/Time Lords/Time Travellers even use such terms or, if they did, would they have a meaning we could interpret as Husband/wife?
Just some thoughts that have been going through my mind for quite some time.
Still under Willow & Tara's spell,
Ray.
That's kinda gross. Funny, but gross. Although the bouncing My Little Pony is VERY distracting. :)
. . . says the person who just connected a genocide to a penis joke *eyebrow*
Although the bouncing My Little Pony is VERY distracting. :)
I love it so much! I've been making up excuses to use it. I wasn't even going to reply to this comment, then I realized I could use bouncing Pinky Pie again =D
I wish I had an icon of Donna looking outraged! ;) ETA: Although what is grandstanding other than penis measuring contests writ large?
And I think I want to watch the show, just so I can have the icon... (Although I'm worrying about ruining my childhood memories. They were *such* an integral part. *sigh*)
humanitypony-kind! For a tv show, the investment risk is minimal (the whole thing's on YouTube, little twenty-minute episodes you can down like candy, less than ten hours total, little chance of accidentally having to write 10,000-word meta), and if you watch it you can have all kinds of colorful, bouncy icons, and are also authorized to call other fans "sugarcube" and to use this (entirely apt) macro:no subject
Thought you'd like to know ;)
And River did say "You'll find out very soon [who I am]. And I'm sorry - that's when everything changes!"
*is IMPATIENT*
I know. I know. There are a bazillion reasons why this is ew. But... I can't help it. It amuses me.
(And I don't take the theory seriously).
I don't think River is human, though. Or at least I'm suspicious that she isn't.
The DoctorRiver? ;)
Oh there are a million and one mad theories out there. This one's my favourite so far: The Master’s 64-Step Plan to Make the Doctor Finally Accept Domestic Bliss With Him, Featuring River Song. Makes yours looks positively tame. :)
51st century gal... She could be anything!
She could be his final regeneration!
I love you. Seriously. Ee by gum.
It took me a while to pin down exactly what was going on, but once I got it I was chortling to myself... Aye, 'tis grand. :)
And icon! Yes, it's like that scene too! More of this please, Moff!
The other scene it reminded me of was this one. The whole 'Let's not go there'...
(I feel SO VINDICATED! Oh yes! Well, Promethia and I feel vindicated! We share a brain.)
Also your comment is hilarious!
I noticed! But we got things like Twirly Shirly out of it, so no one's complaining! ;)
THIS little revelation just about made my brain go asplodey. O_o
It is an AWESOME trailer. EPIC, even. *flailflailflail*
LOL! Glad to know I've been forgiven. ;)
The break was nice, tbh. It makes it that much sweeter and more epic when DW comes back on, ya know? *bounces*
Heh. As far as I know you were not under any kind of obligation... ;)
*cackles* That (minus the Master/Doctor 'cause I didn't even *think* of that angle) was pretty much my reaction. How many villians has he faced who've tried to detroy planets/solar systems/governments? Not so impressive when this one's just the last in a long line. (And what I want out of that scene is what happens *after* the clip ends.)
I have no idea about the rest, but did you notice the shot of an unlit Maldavorium?
no subject
Yes and yes. (And like I said on
I have no idea about the rest, but did you notice the shot of an unlit Maldavorium?
YES I DID!!! Eeeeeee! *flails some more*
