A few thoughts on the trailer...

Random observations. Plus why I think RTD is totally shipping Doctor/River. ;)

ETA: Just remembered that I was going to use this icon. If you can't read the text, it says 'The Doctor in the TARDIS doesn't know' - I chuckle every time I see it.

CANON! CANON! CANON! CANON! CANON! CANON! CANON! CANON!

(This will never get old!)

For anyone still confused, 'Ee by gum' is a Yorkshire colloquialism (very common around here), and the best description I've come across is this one, by [livejournal.com profile] petrichor_fizz:

'Ee by gum' does have a meaning but it's not very specific. It's basically an expression of mild surprise or bewilderment, but also a sort of catch-all, like 'gosh'. So you could say 'ee by gum!' when your whippet gets bitten by a ferret wearing a flat cap, or 'ee by gum I'm right weary' if you've had a bit of a long day.

I am 99% sure that these two images are linked.

"Fear me. I've killed hundreds of Time Lords."
"Fear me. I've killed all of them."

This is v. v. awesome. Partly because he has a wonderful way of being quietly threatening, but also because there is a certain eye-roll factor to the way he delivers the line. I can pretty much hear him thinking: "Oh you're evil, I get it. My ex-boyfriend was like that all the time! It's neither big nor clever, so just stop it already."

Can anyone see what it is Amy has on a string around her neck? My mind immediately went to S3 and TARDIS keys... Apparently it's a pen on a lanyard!

~~~
ANYWAY. Lots more I could talk about, but instead I shall take the opportunity to link together RTD and Doctor/River. Like so:
Ah,
you see I have this theory that, rather like Star Trek's Trill we are placing Human terms like husband/wife on a species(') ~ as I'm not sure it's clear that River is necessarily human; though certainly a time-traveller, that lives multi-generationally, for want of any better term I can come up with off the top of my head, so making such terms rather loose in interpretation; even meaningless in Human terms.
Would Trill/Time Lords/Time Travellers even use such terms or, if they did, would they have a meaning we could interpret as Husband/wife?
Just some thoughts that have been going through my mind for quite some time.
Still under Willow & Tara's spell,
Ray.
From filming pictures, it would seem to be a pen on a lanyard, and other characters have them too.
Heh, I've always had some totally insane idea that River is the Doctor.
I know. I know. There are a bazillion reasons why this is ew. But... I can't help it. It amuses me.
(And I don't take the theory seriously).
I don't think River is human, though. Or at least I'm suspicious that she isn't.
I don't have time to go in-depth but for this alone: "This is v. v. awesome. Partly because he has a wonderful way of being quietly threatening, but also because there is a certain eye-roll factor to the way he delivers the line. I can pretty much hear him thinking: "Oh you're evil, I get it. My ex-boyfriend was like that all the time! It's neither big nor clever, so just stop it already.""
I love you. Seriously. Ee by gum.
*cackles* That (minus the Master/Doctor 'cause I didn't even *think* of that angle) was pretty much my reaction. How many villians has he faced who've tried to detroy planets/solar systems/governments? Not so impressive when this one's just the last in a long line. (And what I want out of that scene is what happens *after* the clip ends.)
I have no idea about the rest, but did you notice the shot of an unlit Maldavorium?
I really have nothing brilliant to add to the conversation, other than that I hope we don't actually find out what's up with River. I love her so, and she's so much more interesting to speculate about than she'll be if we find out that she's really the doctor's wife, or whatever.
