Little Mistakes by
calapine. Four times the Doctor avoided a first kiss - thanks to a sonic screwdriver, more or less - and one time he didn’t. (Everything you could ever wish for and more!)

This is one of the funniest things I have EVER seen! OH TEN!!! ETA: Also, you don't really need to be familiar with Doctor Who to enjoy this. His FAAAACE! :D
cosmiccoz uploaded the podcast for ‘Silence in the Library’ (I re-uploaded it btw), and this bit just made me flail. A lot. It’s Moffat, David Tennant and Julie Gardner...
Moffat: You can sort of imagine that there was a television series where Alex Kingston rode around space with her little team of Daves and Anita. Probably romantically linked to all of them!
DT: *sporfle* [beat] What - you don’t think she’s... uh, faithful? To her husband... I’m not suggesting who her husband may be, but...
Moffat: Why would she be faithful to her husband if she doesn’t have one?
DT: In not suggesting that she has a husband, but if she were to have a husband... I think she’d be faithful to him.
[Julie is TOTALLY with David]
Moff: She’s a fifty-first century woman, come on!
DT [disapproving]: Don’t tar everyone with Captain Jack’s brush!
And then it all goes rather silly... But. River is *so* girl!Jack, and I would LOVE to see a show with her riding around space. Jack, of course, got his own spin-off, but OTOH I’d much rather have River on Doctor Who (in every way, oh yes) so... *g*
Finally, then we watched 'Hush' last night. Just as brilliant as I remembered. A few thoughts...
- Forrest: "This is the burden we bear, brother. We have a gig that would inevitably cause any girl living to think we are cool upon cool. Yet we must Clark Kent our way through the dating scene never to use our unfair advantage."
I found it interesting that Giles uses precisely that hook to get Olivia - and she balks when she discovers that it's all actually true.
- There is a lovely moment when Buffy and Riley are fighting the minions, and she notices one running up the stairs, so she decides to follow - and she stops momentarily, watching Riley battle those that are left and then obviously figures 'Hey, he looks like he can handle himself' and keeps running. And you know... she's so happy and carefree at this point in time. It's lovely to see. ♥
- Giles' slide show (and drawings) were even funnier than I remembered.
- And EVERYTHING to do with Spike was beyond awesome. If I had to pick out a favourite moment it'd be a toss up between the Weetabix conversation with Giles and the moment when Xander (voiceless) calls Buffy and then realises that he can't talk and the phone is useless. Spike's look proves that he doesn't need words - 'You utter and complete MORON!' comes across loudly and clearly. :)

I once read a fic where she was his sister. If they ever get Jack on DW again we might find out... *crosses fingers*

That whole commentary is so win. I could quote it forever. I didn't upload it tho, cosmiccoz did :]
There's a guy over there...he's dying. I wonder what he's doing later?? oh, he died. DATING WITH JULIE GARDNER.
Funnily enough, I also re-watched Hush last night. I have a ridiculous crush on Giles. Bookishness and braces @_@
I love that the actors in Buffy have such marvellous comedic timing they can make you laugh without saying a word [Giles' slide show]

There was another euphemism earlier on... Can't remember it, but it was good too. Oh those people! ♥

LOVE it! (Listening to writers & actors is the best thing ever, 'cause they have SO much more perspective than the fans.)

He's a FINE looking man. Oh yes. Mmmm.

The picture of Buffy, and her reaction! And the popcorn and the 'boobies?' and the 'staking' and... *happy sigh* I shall never fall out of love with Buffy. Ever ever ever!

There were MANY...Moffat is an innuendo machine.
....Anya being all "meh" while eating popcorn, and the music, and Giles' overly gory stick figures...
>>I shall never fall out of love with Buffy. Ever ever ever!
ME NEITHER!

I love that video, and I'm absurdly pleased that you a) liked it, and 2) hasn't seen it before. :D
Hush is full of win. That's why it's always the one I show to people I'm trying to convert to the world of Buffy-- it's just so clever and well done! I love Forest's speech. Hee!

Enjoy! (I love podcasts, cause you can do other stuff whilst you listen, and then I don't feel guilty!) Also I posted fic the other day...

*laughs* You did good!! And there was no way I could ever not love that vid! Too much fun by far!

The reason I chose it to watch, was because I mentioned it to someone (she knows who she is!) as a *fabulous* Buffy episode that she ought to watch. Not that I think she'll actually watch the whole show, but... At least she'll have some idea of what's she's missing. ;)

And I need to go fin your fic. It's more Alex-verse, right?
ETA: you think after all that coffee I'd be less likely to make typos, right?
no subject
Now that sounds brilliant. :)
And I need to go fin your fic. It's more Alex-verse, right?
Indeed! The tag is here. :)

Maybe it's made you jittery?

And hee! I got your comment as i pushed "send" on my comment on the fic!

Sounds perfectly plausible!

I thought 'BLIMEY she reads fast...' ;)

*groan* (I mean the pun, not the sentiment, obviously.)
THAT VID! HAhahaahahahahahahahaa! I already loved that song, but you're right--Ten's faces make it.

Well I wrote it, and then my brain caught up. After which I *obviously* couldn't change it! :)

For some things, Ten really is better! :D I don't think Eleven could be used for that vid, f.ex, since he's not nerdy in the same way. (Had a v. interesting discussion here about Ten's 'youth' btw, that you might be interested in. It's quite short.)

I'm magic like that! (On the serious, I keep tweaking it, and apparently if you just delete the last icon you loaded and load a new one with the same notes and such, LJ will slot it right in in the same slots. V. useful.)

Hmmmm, I believe you are right. Perhaps because the song is about someone who wants to be cool--which Ten so obviously does. Eleven, for all his "______ are cool," does not actually care, as he so eloquently explains.

Ah, thanks!

Gosh! (Although I discovered the icon thing a while ago. It is v. useful. Esp if you delete an icon, but want to reupload it some other time - as long as you get the keywords exactly the same, it'll spring back wherever you used it!)
*quirks eyebrow*
Oh come on!

*blinks* Oh course. Ten, bless his cotton socks, was delightfully vain! (And a very pretty boy he was too!)

NO WAI! Excellent.
Oh come on!
Ha hahaha. Just teasing.

*stifles urges to make hair gel jokes*

It's BRILLIANT! It's how I've managed to let go of some favourites that I never used anymore...
*stifles urges to make hair gel jokes*
Oh such urges should NEVER be stifled! (This clip is from S1 of Angel, back when Spike was still baaaaad! And sorry about the quality, it was the only one I could find.)

IT WORKS! Have successfully replaced all the hug icons! Hee.
Oh such urges should NEVER be stifled!
Ok, let me amend that slightly: *wished to create the impression of having something witty on the tip of the tongue without actually having to produce the goods*

Ah. (Obviously I don't *quite* live in your head yet, since I didn't twig that.)
BWAAAH hahahahaha!
No one can snark like Spike! (No! Not the hair! Never the hair!) That whole speech is imprinted in the DNA of Buffy fandom...

Oh, thank you so much for uploading that commentary! I giggled all the way through - I think they should have that trio do commentaries on all the Doctor Who episodes just for the entertainment value.

RIGHT? I collapse into guffaws every time.
Oh God, that "White and Nerdy" vid was so necessary to my life.
