Apologies to any passing B/A shippers...

...but [livejournal.com profile] zanthinegirl made this icon yesterday, and it made me laugh so hard that my poor husband now fears for my sanity. (You are very welcome to snag.)

And I needed a laugh, because the more I look at the comics, the more they seem to rehash stuff we've already done. Buffy feeling isolated? Oh yes. B/A? Been there, done that. Why couldn't they have thought of something *new*? I think the castle is the problem. It removed Buffy from the everyday life that we all identified with, and we still don't know WHY! *is grumpy* I like show!canon, because that makes SENSE!

*****

Anyway, I realised that I missed [livejournal.com profile] pfeifferpack's birthday, with is very bad!!! So sorry Kathleen, I hope your day was FABULOUS! *sends many belated hugs*

I also missed [livejournal.com profile] lillianmorgan's, which just made me sad, because I miss her still. We got our LJs within days of each other and learned to navigate fandom together, writing fic etc etc, and talking pretty much daily, until she drifted away. :(

But I need to run away again - RL is busy! (They go back to school on Tuesday! \o/)

The thing about the rehashing is that comics add nothing new to stories that were already told on the show.
Exactly. I think this is why it's so fan-ficcy (in the bad sense) - it's all turning in on itself, with a cracktastic plot added to get everyone to do stuff that'd otherwise be OOC.

I think that's a big part of the problem. It's a big rule of fanfic and sequels... go with the characters that brought you to the party. The people came because they wanted to see more of those characters, and when they are acting like total strangers on crack, you begin to wonder what in the hell is even the point.
