Birthdays! ...and other things.

Happy Birthday [livejournal.com profile] sarahlynnl!

And Happy Belated Birthday to the inimitable [livejournal.com profile] rahirah!

Wishing you both the very, very best in the coming year! *hugs*

In *completely* different news (and really I ought to have made another post, but I'm a little rushed and don't want to spam your flists) today is (as Caroline so beautifully put it) Bangel!Boinking!Day, a term which I think puts the whole thing in perspective. *sniggers* (ETA: In case you're wondering, then every day is Spuffy!Boinking!Day. Ahem.)

Also I wanted to mention that I am delighted with the feminist rage that has been unleashed recently, but (being a cynic at heart, apparently) don't think it'll make a blind bit of difference to the story to be honest. However, according to this apparently in this issue the crack gets turned up to eleven. (Couldn't help myself!!!) Favourite quote [bolded bits my emphasis]:

What's interesting is that a lot of things get explained but I still don't have a clue what's going on or why. There are so many layers to this story and the scope is so big that, the more you know, the more you don't.

REALLY? Gosh, well I never!

OK, I'll go now.

Bwah! Trousers.

Yes, I commented again for the sole purpose of using another icon.

I thought you might like that icon.

I'm trying to think if I have any other tangentially relevant icons...

Happy Blight!boinking!day!

ETA: I feel like there should be some sort of fixed ritual on Bangel!boinking!day - it only comes around once a decade, after all. Do we do some sort of dance? Like, pretend there's a huge carnivorous fish that we jump over, or something?

A ritual sounds particularly appealing, I must say.
A dance would be great. :D

*snorts* exactly :)

I'm reluctant to say anything I've not read, but it sounds so much like more of the same, amping up the crack, explaining nothing. And I'm pretty sure however my reiew will look like it'll end with "we'll see" again.

Re: your icon - why yes, the comics do make sense with insane thrall logic! It's all explained!

Martha!squee! *loves*

(Thanks! Snag away! I like Rose, but I fangirl Martha and Donna, so the two of them hugging and being flaily together makes my whole day!)

LMAO! This just made this sad, crack!tastic day in BtVS history so much more bearable...

And a very Merry Bangel!Boinking!Day to YOU!

Oh, thank you for this. I've been dreading today. Now I feel happy and light of brain.

Oh, that's what all that I keep seeing around my flist is about. I gave upon the comics, so I'm out of the loop.

I'd much rather squee about the new Doctor, though I'm clearly going to have to avoid the forums. Way to harsh my squee, forums! I probably should just avoid them full stop...

I so need a "Madman in a box" icon!

LOLthecomicsareSObad.

Yeah, everything about them is pretty haphazard except their stunning ability to make people not care.

*warning-melodrama ahead-warning*

The thing about them is they're just such a mockery of the show in nearly every way that I can't help but feel less about the show because it's obvious Joss doesn't respect it at all, and he certainly doesn't seem to respect my favorite character. I don't see them as canon--Buffy's chilling on a beach in The Boot--but I still can't help but feel they diminish the show because of that. That's why I axed my fandom journal 'cause I really didn't feel like talking about the show for awhile.

Anyway /random 3am rambling in elisi's journal.

:)

Oh I hear ya. I think Joss' brain broke, or something.

Oh, I don't know. To me he's just become resentful of his own creation. But yeah, it's true, barely anyone knows about them. Even just about everyone I knew who reads them in a cracky way are all yeeeeeeeahh, right, Whedon.

Dunno what I'd do if I hadn't found another fandom.

Read a lot! Like me. :P The reason I started this new LJ was because I wanted to join a book-sharing group (much easier than going to the library) and they wouldn't let me have the old one back.
