Stuff.

So - life is back to normal, in that school is open again! Which means that I've been *busy* today and have got things done. Which is good, but also means that now I'm tired and can't remember all the things I was going to post about...

*thinks* Oh yes. I changed my layout (again). I sweet talked [livejournal.com profile] kathyh into making me a banner, and it is very lovely indeed. Spoilery for EoT I guess, although in a rather obscure way! :)

Also [livejournal.com profile] selenak wrote a wonderful post: Ten Reasons To Love Russell T. Davies (Spoilers for EoT!).

And then of course Being Human returned last night... And it was a lovely as ever. I love how even though it is full to the brim with the supernatural, it feels so very, very English. I'm not sure I can explain this paradox, but the world it is set in is incredibly real, rather than 'speshul magical world' or 'soap world'. Everything looks, and everyone behaves, the way real things do. Do you know what I mean?

Anyway, loved that George was both adorable and a jerk, loved the new vampire couple (esp of course the scene with Daisy and her daughter), and the new Bad Guys are seriously NASTY. Oh, and I am very grateful that Nina spilled her secret already.

Darn, must run. But I ♥ this show so much! :)

Was it just me, or was that new vampire couple essentially a genderflipp'd Spike & Dru? After the old traditional master vampires of the first season, now here comes a sexy young couple with emotions running high (man, that scene in the hospice...) to seduce our plucky young hero to the dark side. Except George certainly didn't need a lot of persuasion, did he?

I was more thinking Angelus and Darla

True, especially that "come with me and we'll see the world and fuck" bit which is essentially quoting Darla (except without US censors). On the other hand, that scene in the parking garage, compared to the Buffy/Spike scenes in "School Hard"? The connection between her sire and George's boyfriend elder mentor, like Dru/Angel? They've really learned from Buffy. I can't wait until their version of Faith shows up in s3. :-)

And George, George, George... *shakes head* Maybe Daisy can do thrall?

That bit actually felt a bit rushed. If they could have saved that for ep 2, establish the mutual fear between George and Nina, I don't think it would have hurt. But yeah, I thought it worked.
