This vid gave me SHIVERS the first time I watched it. It's the Doctor (the Tenth Doctor, make no mistake) - the good, the bad, the ugly. It's like they reached inside my head and pulled out *my* Doctor and made a vid. If I had to explain to anyone what it is that I love about him, I'd show them this! Seriously, I can't recommend it enough! (Spoilers for EVERYTHING!)
Fic recs:
The Naming of Things byariafic. Summary: How to become the Master. Long, but excellent. The way she slowly lets the Master evolve is extremely plausible and disturbing! If you like origin fic - or anything to do with the Master, Gallifrey or Doctor/Master - run, don't walk, to this story.
In Another Life bysam_storyteller. Yet another post-'Journey's End' AU fic (I'm sure you can guess the pairing), but - as the name of the author will tell you - it's a wonderful, deftly woven, and excellently plotted tale. And the Doctor reads Dorothy Sayers! That's how good it is. :)
Torchwood now - and specifically coat!fic. *Genius* coat!fic: Nice Coat byadina_atl is the best piece of fanon I've read in forever (or that's what it seems like). Also it is *short*, so you definitely have time to read it. :)
sam_storyteller was so inspired by above story that he wrote a prequel: Care and Feeding (to be read secondly!), and these two ficlets together are so lovely that they make me waves my hands around helplessly. *happy sigh*
Of course, today is 'Big Bang' day, which also means Torchwood Radio Drama!!!!!!!! (Squeeeeeee!) 2:15 pm on Radio 4! (And downloadable as mp3 from the Radio 4 website for a week afterwards.) 2 hours to go! *watches clock obsessively*

Same here. And I had a toddler to keep occupied!
Lots of continuity to make it actually feel like Torchwood rather than a random drama about CERN.
Yes - it was like they were using CERN as a way of dealing with a lot of the issues from the finale, which was nice.
