Vid rec:

Handlebars by flummery. Summary: I'm the Doctor. Look me up.

This vid gave me SHIVERS the first time I watched it. It's the Doctor (the Tenth Doctor, make no mistake) - the good, the bad, the ugly. It's like they reached inside my head and pulled out *my* Doctor and made a vid. If I had to explain to anyone what it is that I love about him, I'd show them this! Seriously, I can't recommend it enough! (Spoilers for EVERYTHING!)

Fic recs:

The Naming of Things by ariafic. Summary: How to become the Master. Long, but excellent. The way she slowly lets the Master evolve is extremely plausible and disturbing! If you like origin fic - or anything to do with the Master, Gallifrey or Doctor/Master - run, don't walk, to this story.

In Another Life by sam_storyteller. Yet another post-'Journey's End' AU fic (I'm sure you can guess the pairing), but - as the name of the author will tell you - it's a wonderful, deftly woven, and excellently plotted tale. And the Doctor reads Dorothy Sayers! That's how good it is. :)

Torchwood now - and specifically coat!fic. *Genius* coat!fic: Nice Coat by adina_atl is the best piece of fanon I've read in forever (or that's what it seems like). Also it is *short*, so you definitely have time to read it. :)

sam_storyteller was so inspired by above story that he wrote a prequel: Care and Feeding (to be read secondly!), and these two ficlets together are so lovely that they make me waves my hands around helplessly. *happy sigh*

Of course, today is 'Big Bang' day, which also means Torchwood Radio Drama!!!!!!!! (Squeeeeeee!) 2:15 pm on Radio 4! (And downloadable as mp3 from the Radio 4 website for a week afterwards.) 2 hours to go! *watches clock obsessively*

That vid is terrific! Someone used the same song to make a BSG vid and it worked quite well too, but this one is the best.

You know, I can't imagine anyone being cast as The Doctor after David.

I've been meaning to rec that vid for about the last week but you've beaten me to it. It's awesome isn't it.

I thought the Torchwood radio drama worked surprising well (even though I got a phone call in the middle of it). Lots of continuity to make it actually feel like Torchwood rather than a random drama about CERN.

Yes - it was like they were using CERN as a way of dealing with a lot of the issues from the finale, which was nice.
