Have you seen this? Joss talks about issue 12 and a new development.... (Major spoilers if you follow the link!) My first reaction? Season 8 is turning into Torchwood! :) Oh, the joys of not caring are many and plentyful. I'm serious though about the Torchwood thing:

OWEN: Oi, you lot ... (He motions to the monitor.) Treat!
(Jack and Toshiko head over. Gwen is still kissing Carys.)
OWEN: Whoa.
JACK: Wow.
TOSHIKO: She said she had a boyfriend.
JACK: You people and your quaint little categories.

(I happen to have a tiny little cracktastic s8/AtF crossover plotbunny. This latest development is perfect! ::is delighted:: Might have to actually write the thing now, once other stuff is out of the way.)

ETA: Seriously, it just writes itself... (Did I mention how much I love TW? *g*)

Spike: Let’s all have sex.
Angel: And I thought the end of the world couldn't get any worse.
Buffy: I'm in!
[takes off her kevlar outfit to reveal tiny skimpy nightie]
Angel: ...
Spike: Brilliant! Spider - fetch the best demon brew and tell the girls we're having an orgy!
Connor: Yay!
Angel [aghast]: Go home!
Connor: No fair. [stomps out]
Spike: Bloody hell, why do you have to be so uptight? Let the boy have some fun.
Angel [grumpily]: He's slept with enough of my ex-girlfriends already.
Spike: I'm not a girl!
Angel: Jkdjfslkfjgkhfkjd!

[At this point I'm thinking that I'd like to have Captain Jack show up, since he is - of course - The Immortal in this verse. Should he bring Ianto (w. stopwatch, hockeystick and assorted other props)? What do you think? *happy sigh* I could keep writing this forever, trust me!)


Also, since I forgot this yesterday, being totally indifferent to s8 Buffy is v. handy when it comes to Spike in AtF, because I really, really don't want him to end up with Buffy. So I am free to ship him with everyone and anyone - Spider, Illyria, Connor... it's all good. (Of course he'll end up with Angel sooner or later, but until then I am happy just to follow the flow.)


I was going to say something about the AR, but I can't be bothered. And I ought to work on my winter_of_angel fic... ::deep sigh::

Hey if Buffy wants to be bisexual that is fine with me. As long as Joss is equal and we get a male relationship as well.
I went ahead onto Brian Lynch's myspace page.
And wrote this.

"Hi, Mr. Lynch this has nothing to do with your post. I am sure you are already aware of what Joss Whedon is doing with Buffy and Satsu. Personally I do not care. I just think that if one does do that, it should be done with males as well as females. So I think it would be more than fair to get two male characters in the same relationship. Be it a one night stand, or angst sex as well. I am sure you will hear from others as this comes out. I do enjoy your work very much.

Hopefully Joss will allow for a male relationship, either Spike with Angel, Wesley with Angel, or Gunn with Angel. Or vice versa. If one gets experimenting slayers, vampires should follow as well. If one was a vampire with all the time in the world, one would experiment alot.
I would stand to see any male sexual relationship as long as it wasn't with Andrew. Xander would go along nicely with any other male. Giles and Ethan would also be acceptable. I hope I do not seem to forward.

Do you suddenly want AFTER THE FALL to go in that direction? I think it would make for an awkward shift.

As for your specific hook-up requests:

1. Spike with Angel. Hell, Spider seems to think it's going on already.

2. Wesley with Angel. One is noncorporal. That would make things difficult.

3. Gunn and Angel. That would be weirdest plot development in the history of comic books. Not really headed in that direction, is it?"

I hope you don't think me strange, but his answers make me very, very happy. The thing is, s8 has turned into OOC crack!fic. This sometimes makes me cross (the bank robbing) and sometimes amused (Buffy/Satsu), and completely unable to take any of it seriously.

AtF however I *am* taking seriously, and if that means sticking with the subtext then that's fine with me. Much as I'd like Spike & Angel to hook up, I much prefer Brian to tell the story he's telling without distracting shippiness, no matter how hot it would be.

So I shall continue to rely on Torchwood to supply me with canon slash. :)
