Have you seen this? Joss talks about issue 12 and a new development.... (Major spoilers if you follow the link!) My first reaction? Season 8 is turning into Torchwood! :) Oh, the joys of not caring are many and plentyful. I'm serious though about the Torchwood thing:

OWEN: Oi, you lot ... (He motions to the monitor.) Treat!
(Jack and Toshiko head over. Gwen is still kissing Carys.)
OWEN: Whoa.
JACK: Wow.
TOSHIKO: She said she had a boyfriend.

(I happen to have a tiny little cracktastic s8/AtF crossover plotbunny. This latest development is perfect! ::is delighted:: Might have to actually write the thing now, once other stuff is out of the way.)

ETA: Seriously, it just writes itself... (Did I mention how much I love TW? *g*)

[At this point I'm thinking that I'd like to have Captain Jack show up, since he is - of course - The Immortal in this verse. Should he bring Ianto (w. stopwatch, hockeystick and assorted other props)? What do you think? *happy sigh* I could keep writing this forever, trust me!)


Also, since I forgot this yesterday, being totally indifferent to s8 Buffy is v. handy when it comes to Spike in AtF, because I really, really don't want him to end up with Buffy. So I am free to ship him with everyone and anyone - Spider, Illyria, Connor... it's all good. (Of course he'll end up with Angel sooner or later, but until then I am happy just to follow the flow.)


I was going to say something about the AR, but I can't be bothered. And I ought to work on my winter_of_angel fic... ::deep sigh::

Hmm. My first reaction on seeing that was "Oh my God, he actually went there!"

My second was "Now I don't need to write that fic I was thinking of, because Joss has done the same thing in canon."

My third was to laugh at all the snarky comments he was throwing in about killing Satsu off now, because he clearly knows his own reputation...

Well, isn't THAT interesting. That ought to stir up some waves; I was wondering when they would start pairing up the TV canon characters with the 2-dimensional ones...

All that talk about Buffy "experimenting" notwithstanding, I'm going to give Joss yet another benefit of a doubt here (call me naive) and assume this isn't an Ally McBeal-style Lesbian Kiss Episode. At least until I've read the whole thing. After all, most of the pre-release "OMG GUYZ U HAVE TO BUY 10 COPIES OF THIS BECAUSE YOUR PAGES WILL GET STICKY PEOPLE WILL TALK ABOUT IT FOR GENERATIONS TO COME" has been coming from non-Dark Horse sources. Oh well. Still not weirder than Buffy The Bankrobber.

I'd say their mild flirting doesn't quite qualify as a full-on "pairing" prior to this issue. Of course, we don't yet know exactly what they do directly after the battlement conversation at the start of this - maybe they got down to it first, and Buffy and Satsu walked in on them and got inspired, and then Andrew comes in and fixes the cable, and...

That was my first thought too. But since I love to see a bit more bisexuality in comics an tv, so I kind of like it. I don't even think it too OOC for Buffy (at least far less than the bank robbing). She has a thing for beings as powerful as her and to wait their lives away is not really an option for slayers.

But while he's at it couldn't Joss finally give in and through some Spangel into AtF? After all he was building towards that for the whole of S5.

I adore Andrew, but I agree that he doesn't count. Also agree that if he really ought to do something about the m/m stuff, and Spike/Angel are by far the most likely couple to get together.

specially if they want to shock you when you stopped caring, which is kinda cute, considering we're in fandom and pretty much nothing shocks us anymore. The fall out with all the innocent out-of-tha-net-fans will be fun to watch though.
