Have you seen this? Joss talks about issue 12 and a new development.... (Major spoilers if you follow the link!) My first reaction? Season 8 is turning into Torchwood! :) Oh, the joys of not caring are many and plentyful. I'm serious though about the Torchwood thing:

OWEN: Oi, you lot ... (He motions to the monitor.) Treat!
(Jack and Toshiko head over. Gwen is still kissing Carys.)

(I happen to have a tiny little cracktastic s8/AtF crossover plotbunny. This latest development is perfect! ::is delighted:: Might have to actually write the thing now, once other stuff is out of the way.)

[At this point I'm thinking that I'd like to have Captain Jack show up, since he is - of course - The Immortal in this verse. Should he bring Ianto (w. stopwatch, hockeystick and assorted other props)? What do you think? *happy sigh* I could keep writing this forever, trust me!)

Also, since I forgot this yesterday, being totally indifferent to s8 Buffy is v. handy when it comes to Spike in AtF, because I really, really don't want him to end up with Buffy. So I am free to ship him with everyone and anyone - Spider, Illyria, Connor... it's all good. (Of course he'll end up with Angel sooner or later, but until then I am happy just to follow the flow.)

I was going to say something about the AR, but I can't be bothered. And I ought to work on my

winter_of_angel fic... ::deep sigh::

My second was "Now I don't need to write that fic I was thinking of, because Joss has done the same thing in canon."

All that talk about Buffy "experimenting" notwithstanding, I'm going to give Joss yet another benefit of a doubt here (call me naive) and assume this isn't an Ally McBeal-style Lesbian Kiss Episode. At least until I've read the whole thing. After all, most of the pre-release "OMG GUYZ U HAVE TO BUY 10 COPIES OF THIS BECAUSE ~~YOUR PAGES WILL GET STICKY~~ PEOPLE WILL TALK ABOUT IT FOR GENERATIONS TO COME" has been coming from non-Dark Horse sources. Oh well. Still not weirder than Buffy The Bankrobber.

Well since I consider s8!Buffy as 2-D as Satsu, it doesn't bother me. But yes, there could be problems there...

Well, no! Not really a slasher here anyway. I mean, I can see Angle/Spike (though I much prefer them as annoyed brothers) but Spike/Connor! I can see that mostly to piss off Angel!

I *know*! Although I can see *why* people slash them, it never seemed at all likely or in character for either of them. In the AtF setup however? Oh it pretty much writes itself... :)

...0! Here I am, and yes, with more and more beautiful almost-naked girls appearing in Buffy-8 in steamy positions, I'm afraid it looks more and more like that, whether it is intentional or not on Joss' part.

That was my first thought too. But since I love to see a bit more bisexuality in comics an tv, so I kind of like it. I don't even think it too OOC for Buffy (at least far less than the bank robbing). She has a thing for beings as powerful as her and to wait their lives away is not really an option for slayers.

But while he's at it couldn't Joss finally give in and through some Spangel into AtF? After all he was building towards that for the whole of S5.

I adore Andrew, but I agree that he doesn't count. Also agree that if he really ought to do something about the m/m stuff, and Spike/Angel are by far the most likely couple to get together.

That's exactly the problem I have with it. Not just using someone again... but using someone who loves her. Again.

Honestly, I wouldn't be bugged as much if they were going to actually put the two of them in a real relationship, or if Buffy fell into bed with some other girl (although I have to agree with

Hey if Buffy wants to be bisexual that is fine with me. As long as Joss is equal and we get a male relationship as well.
I went ahead onto Brian Lynch's myspace page.
And wrote this.

"Hi, Mr. Lynch this has nothing to do with your post. I am sure you are already aware of what Joss Whedon is doing with Buffy and Satsu. Personally I do not care. I just think that if one does do that, it should be done with males as well as females. So I think it would be more than fair to get two male characters in the same relationship. Be it a one night stand, or angst sex as well. I am sure you will hear from others as this comes out. I do enjoy your work very much.

Hopefully Joss will allow for a male relationship, either Spike with Angel, Wesley with Angel, or Gunn with Angel. Or vice versa. If one gets experimenting slayers, vampires should follow as well. If one was a vampire with all the time in the world, one would experiment alot.
I would stand to see any male sexual relationship as long as it wasn't with Andrew. Xander would go along nicely with any other male. Giles and Ethan would also be acceptable. I hope I do not seem to forward.

I hope you don't think me strange, but his answers make me very, very happy. The thing is, s8 has turned into OOC crack!fic. This sometimes makes me cross (the bank robbing) and sometimes amused (Buffy/Satsu), and completely unable to take any of it seriously.

AtF however I *am* taking seriously, and if that means sticking with the subtext then that's fine with me. Much as I'd like Spike & Angel to hook up, I much prefer Brian to tell the story he's telling without distracting shippiness, no matter how hot it would be.

So I shall continue to rely on Torchwood to supply me with canon slash. :)
