Various.
Changed my layout. Partly the pink was getting a bit much, and partly I really needed a Doctor banner... This is not the one I'd ideally use (because my favourite one is rather spoilery), but this one is v. lovely all the same. (It is so incredible to have a shiny new show to delve into... it took three years, but suddenly it started hitting all the buttons that BtVS/AtS used to - in its very own way of course. I never thought that would ever happen again, so I am very grateful. Only now I have 26 seasons to catch up on... Oh and did I mention the breaking of my heart? 'Cause damn!)
Re. LJ de-friending people at random - if I de-friended anyone, just e-mail me and I'll friend you right back, OK? :)
And I need some help. *looks hopeful* Our copy of 'Mere Christianity' has disappeared. Just vanished. So I was wondering if there was anyone out there with a copy who'd be willing to look up a quote for me?
I was sure there was something else, but I'm drawing a blank...

I was sure there was something else, but I'm drawing a blank...
The carrier pigeon brought the DVD back this morning, thanks.

Oh no, I didn't mean that one. But I found this wallpaper the other day, and the creator said she'd be happy to make a banner version... *deep sigh* Guess I'll just have to save it for a few months - or something.
You'll have to ditch the mood-theme though.
Heh. I actually found a 'Saxon' moodtheme that I am sorely tempted by... obsession is awkward.
The carrier pigeon brought the DVD back this morning, thanks.
Thank *you*! Hope the writing goes well! :)

Are you gone, then?
I really can't join in the DW squee, I'm afraid. It passes the time but that's about it for me.
no subject
Oh no, I'm staying *right here*! I have no desire whatsoever to join the DW fandom - I avoided all the shipper wars etc of the Buffy fandom and I'm determined to avoid them in the DW one too. I just like the pretties - and meta is eating my head. But I'm not going anywhere, trust me! (::points to latest Asylum ficlet::)
It passes the time but that's about it for me.
Well it rather took me by surprise. But in a good way. :)

It's funny actually, because I clearly remember when he came back from the party, obviously rather drunk and - as far as I recall - with his tie around his head. Because my first thought was pretty much exactly 'Hey - The Doctor got some! Good for him!' :)

Ditto. The first two episodes premiered on the Sci-Fi Channel last night and I popped in a tape for a flist member and then went off to do a load of laundry. I'd cruise by now and then to see what was going on but it doesn't really hold my interest.

It's like your journal became a Tardis or something. Cool! :- )

Hee! Thank you. :) I did think about finding one with the inside of the Tardis with the real colours, but I wasn't sure I could cope with the yellow/orange/green for long... *g*

Seriously though, I always used to think of it as Buffy lite... and now suddenly it's turned into Angel, only moreso! I need time to write...

As to the book - I know the name, but I am at Mum and dad's so can't check. Dad also knows it and doesn't have it. One of my brothers may also hav it - so really it depends on how urgently youneed the info. If there is no hurry I should (poss - I haven't asked Nick if he has it!) be able to track it down.

Well... duh! *grins*
If there is no hurry I should (poss - I haven't asked Nick if he has it!) be able to track it down.
Oh no hurry at all. And really it's not all that *terribly* important, I just love using exact quotes in my essays...

However - the picture of The Doctor you are using is really poinant ... and Martha has left him!! Poor man!
Right - I will ask Nick when I write ... I have owed him an email for about a week, so will do that later ... and will check myself when I get back home - and let you know.

Oh God that scene KILLS me - and the music is so, so gorgeous! (I need a soundtrack! And I have SO MANY other icons that I want to use, but are horribly spoilery... *meeps*)
And don't worry about the quote - someone else has bravely volunteered! But thanks for all the effort you were going to put in! ::hugs::

Glad you got your quotes sorted out - I am hopeless at remembering exact phrases myself, even (I hate to admit it) well known Bible verses I sometimes muddle - and as for the actual text numbers ... Arrrgh!!

It's one I've had uploaded for *years* and know that I'll never get rid of...
Glad you got your quotes sorted out
*facepalm* I meant: *points down* I am hopeless at everything it would seem, except obsessing...

One part of the claim tends to slip past us unnoticed because we have heard it so often that we no longer see what it amounts to. I mean the claim to forgive sins: any sin. Now unless the speaker is God, this is really so preposterous as to be comic. We can all understand how a man forgives offences against himself. You tread on my toe and I forgive you, you steal my money and I forgive you. But what should we make of a man, himself unrobbed and untrodden on, who announced that he forgave you for treading on other men's toes and stealing other men's money? Asinine fatuity is the kindest description we should give of his conduct. Yet this is what Jesus did.

Oh me too! I think I'll have to buy it again if I can't find it - I'm all lost without it.
And yes, that was the *exact* quote I wanted! Thank you thank you thank you! Esp because I know how busy you are! *BIG HUGS* (I'm writing an essay about Doctor Who, and the latest season taps into a LOT of religious themes... I love it very much. :) )

I need to buy it again, too. My copy is all marked up with pen. I hate buying used books, only to get them home and discover that the previous reader couldn't read without underlining and circling every other word.

I often wonder how I coped before LJ. Having this huge network of friends, with such wide knowledge and wonderful helpfulness is truly great! *hugs*

Oh dear. Our copy was a cheap and cheerful paperback, but it really has vanished. And I can never find interesting used books... which might of course have something to do with the sorts of bookshops/markets we have around here.

Oh! And I watched CK's Her Minor Thing the other night and thought of you. He was pretty babetastic in it. It's true. ;D

I hope I managed to get all the people that fell of my f-list back. ::shakes fist at LJ::

I so, so, so wanted a banner with him and Mr Saxon, but it would be rather spoilery... *sigh* (double the pretty OMG! And of course *heart break*)
::shakes fist at LJ::
I've just given up being mad. I'm too tired.
