So - I went and spoiled myself...
Buffy: “Great muppety Odin, I miss that sex.”
*blinks*
I'm guessing this is Joss' way of saying that Buffy's grieving over Spike?
Now I want to be mad at him for being so ridiculous, but... *shakes head* This is the guy from whom came "I signalled her with my eyes!", which I wouldn't trade for all the world!
And anyway... it's just a comic book! I'm is still undecided... to buy or not to buy...
Mostly - I'm looking forward to all the great stuff that'll be posted and rec'd tomorrow. And Darcy having gone out I'll be able to finish polishing off my Phoenix ficlet. Life is good! Now I must just get children to bed...

Hee! I think I'll probably give in and get it. But mostly for Buffy's sake than anyone else.

Buffy... she has a way with words... that's not always to her advantage. :)
Besides, it just may confirm that sex with Spike is unparalleled. ;)

From the review I read:
Alone on a castle balcony, Buffy tells us how she misses her home, her mom, the Gang, churros, and most of all sex. “Great muppety Odin, I miss that sex.”
And I'm not mad! (I seriously shouldn't write posts at night!) It's just the fact that the phrase 'muppety Odin' is not something I could have dreamed up in my wildest fantasies... *g*
(And of course sex with Spike is unparalleled!)

(And at least even the Spike haters have to agree that Spike is Sex on Legs! *g*)

Heh.
it sounds as if he's let the freedom from the constraints of TV go to his head rather
*nods* But on the other hand people have been complaining for *years* that the Slayer should have better resources - and now she has them they complain that it's un-Buffy-like...

I am, however, prepared for the possibility that at some point we'll find out that Buffy had a passionate fling with some random Watcher's Council guy 2 months before Issue #1. And at that point, I'll join everyone else in being pissed at Joss. Right now, I'm surprisingly pleased with him.

Oh I'm not upset! It's just the term 'Muppety Odin' that I can't wrap my head around - it makes me giggle in the same way TGiQ does.
And you can wank it away to be not about Spike, but since everyone's first reaction is "That has to be about Spike", I can't think that we're NOT meant to connect it to him.
And even the Spike-haters have to admmit that Buffy never had it as good as she did with Spike! *g* (And it buries the AR *completely*! Ha!)
And at that point, I'll join everyone else in being pissed at Joss.
We love to hate and hate to love... And hey - maybe she had a fling with Faith? Who knows...

Indeed. I wasn't upset at all, although apparently I came across that way. And another positive - it makes the AR a non-issue. :)

Hee! I loved that line, 'cause it's like, Buffy doesn't miss Spike himself, just the sex. Hee!
...aaaand of course you're a Spike fan, so you wouldn't feel that way. Sorry. I'm one of those fans that blame Spike for taking over season 7 and marginalizing the other characters' arcs. So I love that Buffy misses the gang, but not Spike. It makes me feel vindicated, and like Joss is acknowledging my little section of the fandom, because that's how my self-centred little mind works, and I can't control my glee.
If you find me annoying and choose to ignore this, I will understand.

Thanks. I will. Wheeeee! 8D ...
"Just as long as you don't expect everyone else to share the same view"
'Course not. Not right away at least... *sneaks away to work on plan to brainwash all of fandom*

Hey, how far do you live from London?

And you know, I think that's what'll tip the scales. I wasn't in fandom back when the show aired (and I am often grateful for that), but I think it would be so much fun to discuss it on LJ...
Hey, how far do you live from London?
2 hours train journey. Why?

I'm very excited because it will be my first trip over there! Do you have any favorite spots to visit in the London area that you would recommend seeing?

I'm not sure if I can convince my friend to roam two hours away, but we'll see.
It's not so much the time (it takes *forever* to go anywhere in London), but the price.
Anyway - I'll e-mail you! *bounces*

I'm very posistive about these comics. I really liked the scene between Buffy and Xander and the one between Buffy and Dawn. I'm sure there'll be a lot that I won't like, but all the seasons had that, anyway, especially season 7.

I think you may be right...

*loves S7 with whole heart* Ahem. It'll be fun I think. If I don't like them... well they're only comics!
