Update from the house of Plague (Day 101 of Year 2)
House of plague confirmed (Darcy's PCR was positive).

Am not feeling great myself - just sort of all over achy, so I guess we'll see how it goes. If the daily posts stop because of actual covid I'll appreciate the irony for sure...
~
Somehow getting a notification for this story feels very apropos, given the state of my head at the moment:
UFO report: Government can't explain 143 of 144 mysterious flying objects, blames limited data
~
Daily Dimash: Thousands Of Miles A Common Dream
The song is based on the poetry of Zhang Jiuling of the Tang Dynasty. The poem was written to comfort friends who are about to travel a long journey.
Longer video with context & subtitles:
Go to youtube to see more info/story/lyrics. All I'll note here is that Dimash dedicated the song to the medical workers of the Wuhan Union Hospital (the song was recorded on Jan. 8, 2020). The main objective of this show is to popularize the Chinese traditional fine arts among the young people through pop culture by having pop stars sing the texts of ancient poetry out to the audience.
He also performed 'Adai' on the dombra:
~
Dimash sang in New Year (2021-22) in China on the CCTV channel with Thousands of Miles, A Common Dream (万里梦同心), in a duet with Yingxi Zhang.
ETA: Lovely reaction. Make sure to add subtitles.

I've enjoyed your posts through this year-plus of lockdown, by the way!

Thank you! Here's to hoping.

Oh that makes me happy. I fear the quality has fluctuated wildly, but it's been a nice thing to keep me focussed. :)

Anyhow, fingers crossed you get well soon and it doesn't get worse.

Well Darcy & Miss M both got ill with ~something~ way back when (March 2020), when there were no tests or anything. We all just isolated and they got better pretty quickly. So who knows? However the consensus is that this one is much worse, so the first one might just have been a bug of some kind.
Also I thought you had both your shots? Which vaccine, if you don't mind me asking?
AstraZeneca, and Darcy & I have had the first one. Miss M has had both shots. So we should be fine in the long run (i.e. we're not worried about ending up in hospital) it's just annoying being ill.
Anyhow, fingers crossed you get well soon and it doesn't get worse.
Thank you! <3

Oh no! :(
Please encourage Darcy and anyone else in the household who is infected
to rest WAY more than they think they need to as they are recovering
over exertion in recovery seems to increase the risk of developing long-COVID
eg 12 months or more of being too unwell to do paid work or study
Even mild COVID in young people often leads to long-term symptoms

Also nice to meet you, hope you are well. (If we have met before, I apologise. I will blame covid for my terrible memory. *g*)

And we were all given it by Miss M who came home last weekend (Friday-Sunday). She's had both jabs, and had a very minor scratchy throat (so minor she didn't even mention it), and lo and behold it turned out to be covid! No idea where *she* got it, mind you, she's the overly cautious one...
