Update from the house of Plague (Day 101 of Year 2)
House of plague confirmed (Darcy's PCR was positive).

Am not feeling great myself - just sort of all over achy, so I guess we'll see how it goes. If the daily posts stop because of actual covid I'll appreciate the irony for sure...
~
Somehow getting a notification for this story feels very apropos, given the state of my head at the moment:
UFO report: Government can't explain 143 of 144 mysterious flying objects, blames limited data
~
Daily Dimash: Thousands Of Miles A Common Dream
The song is based on the poetry of Zhang Jiuling of the Tang Dynasty. The poem was written to comfort friends who are about to travel a long journey.
Longer video with context & subtitles:
Go to youtube to see more info/story/lyrics. All I'll note here is that Dimash dedicated the song to the medical workers of the Wuhan Union Hospital (the song was recorded on Jan. 8, 2020). The main objective of this show is to popularize the Chinese traditional fine arts among the young people through pop culture by having pop stars sing the texts of ancient poetry out to the audience.
He also performed 'Adai' on the dombra:
~
Dimash sang in New Year (2021-22) in China on the CCTV channel with Thousands of Miles, A Common Dream (万里梦同心), in a duet with Yingxi Zhang.
ETA: Lovely reaction. Make sure to add subtitles.

Re: Couple of vids I thought you might enjoy for old times sake
I'm also impressed with how you found it! It's a great piece for a monologue.
And a wonderful reaction; except for the Riley not-love, but she's hardly alone in that. Possibly the most wonderful reaction to Oz's return I have ever seen.
Poor Riley.... And that is a brilliant reaction indeed, although I give you Torchwood Boy's reaction to Cordy's return:

(Turn the sound DOWN, trust me. *g*)
Re: Couple of vids I thought you might enjoy for old times sake
I will promise to try and give it a go. I know the episode, and I literally have not watched that since it aired here in the UK; even though I own the S5 DVDs. In fact, when I wrote that multi-fandom fic for you I'd not watched an Angel episode; apart from Season One, since the series aired ~ went to the Buffy site that had all the episode scripts to get the ending right in my head (what was that site? Can't remember the name now I'm thinking about it).
I will make an effort to watch it though - for you.

Mind you, the boy knows the wider context. It's equal parts 'Cordy! ♥' and 'Fuck you Joss!'
But seriously. Just the reaction to her appearing. I wouldn't make you watch something you dislike!
Re: Couple of vids I thought you might enjoy for old times sake
Coming to the end of La luciérnaga again; almost at what I've decided is my favourite scene between Lucia and Mariana.
Cannot seem to get enough of this film. Can't speak a word of Spanish, but I've watched it so many times that I can almost see what's on the screen, even if my head is turned away.
It's like it heals my wounds this film. I could watch it all day and all night and not tire of it at the moment.
I'll have to get some sleep at some point; more than 24 hours now, and I still don't feel like sleeping.
I'll probably give that reaction a go when I've had some sleep; though your comments reminded me of a reactor I only know through Wynonna Earp; I have to send you something of his.

If you set the video to where you want it to start, when you click on share in the pop up there is a little box saying 'start at [timestamp]'.

<3 <3 <3 I firmly believe in the healing properties of art.
