More Joy Day! :)

I've *completely* forgotten to pimp sdwolfpup's brilliant idea More Joy Day, which has now arrived! (But better late than never and all that...)

And thank you lots and lots to the lovely person who got me a virtual snowglobe for my profile. Made me smile a lot! :)

I don't have much to contribute I'm afraid, but I *do* have two vid recs that are truly spectacular!

Buffy-verse: Ruiner by danegen is a very skillful comparison of the similarities between Angel's relationship with his two sons, Connor and Spike. My favourite sort of vid is the meta-vid, and this one delivers and more besides. Just wow. (I am *so* glad I have already written essays on this subject, otherwise I'd have to get right on it!)

Who-verse: Carol of the Bells by croc_rocketfan. This vid just blew me away. Her summary is this: "There will be time, time for all the works and days of hands, for I have known them all." Nothing can be eternal. Which is pretty spot-on.

The Doctor: I have to live on. Alone. That's the curse of the Time Lords.

What with all the Torchwood squee, I thought I ought to pimp the best Jack vid I've ever seen:

Behind Blue Eyes by obfreak

It uses mostly Torchwood material (as well as a few snippets from Doctor Who), and my goodness she actually manages to make the show look good! I love this vid to pieces - not only is it a great look at the character and where he's at in S1 of TW, but it is also a beautifully crafted vid! I really think it is a must-see for any Jack fan.


Actually, since I'm doing the Torchwood rec thing, I ought to include this short TW S1 Jack-centric fic, since it is the perfect companion to the vid:

Absolution by a_farther_room

I love fic like this. It takes the flawed show and brings out all the subtleties that the writers often missed! And it's got *perfect* characterisations.
