My good friend H (who visited me last year for a week around my birthday if you can remember that far back) sent me this in an e-mail this morning - one of those 'if you care, send this on to all your friends'. Usually I just ignore these things (especially the 'good luck' ones - as if sending a few e-mails will make me win the lottery. *snort*), but this one actually has rather a good point, even if it is wrapped up in schmaltz and one of those 'true stories' that I'm sure is made up. Aaaaanyway, here it is behind the cut because it sort of tapped into a lot of feelings I've had lately, such as 'I am so blessed with such a wonderful family - I'm sure I don't deserve it!' and 'Oh god when will I *ever* get on top of things again, not to mention have a few minutes just to myself without feeling guilty?' (and also of course 'How dare I whine when I know people who have *way* harder lives than I?').

She’s in a bit too much pain to handle his request, at the moment. But oh, Spike. Don’t you dare give up on that girl. She’ll get to feeling better, someday. And you never know when a wish might come true.[...]
