Lockdown Update Day 124
~We have 3 jobs on this planet:
— Rabbi Danya Ruttenberg (@TheRaDR) June 29, 2020
1) To enjoy the exquisite beauty here
2) To love big & bravely
3) To care for one another & fight for justice & equity for everyone.
We have much to do on #3 now. But don’t neglect #1 and #2. You need them. AND they offer fuel for the fight.
~MY friend's son caught her taking his lost tooth out from under his pillow and she had to claim the Tooth Fairy was furloughed.

And I, um, posted fic. Another crossover - much shorter, although there will be more:
Meet the Neighbours
Summary: Missy and the Doctor move to the South Downs. Aziraphale and Crowley are their neighbours. That's it, that's the set-up.
~
Finally, today's art. English sculptor Barbara Hepworth, 'Stringed Figure (Curlew), Version II' 1956.
Which reminded me that I have been waiting to share this article for absolutely ages:
Letters reveal postnatal crisis of Barbara Hepworth
Previously unpublished correspondence sheds new light on artist’s struggle to pursue career while caring for triplets alone.
I knew she was married and had children, but somehow I never realised that she had triplets!!

Also, yay fic :)

Knew you had impeccable taste! And I have never been to St Ives. :(
I did know about the triplets, because there's a little bit in the entrance to the garden with life-information and photos about her and the kids feature. (I hadn't realised she sent them away for a bit, though, and the 'open marriage' situation is not made particularly clear there iirc...)
I knew about 'children' but somehow never twigged that there were triplets (nor the sending them away...) Nothing is ever easy for women.
Also, yay fic :)
Yay your (and Laura's) fic also! I have it open in a tab, ready to ready. However I have FINALLY worked out how to do the Sound of Music chapter, so am going to get a draft together before I reward myself with more fic. It's verrrry tempting, just sitting there.

*enthusiastic cheering re Sound of Music chapter*
It's funny, because it's the first thing I ever wrote, the thing that spurred me onto writing the thing in the first place. And it's been simply impossible.
(Thread here: https://purplefringe.dreamwidth.org/24838.html?thread=385286#cmt385286)
BUT I SHALL OVERCOME! I have structure now. And hopefully a SHORT chapter.

yay structure!

I have a feeling somewhere around there you offered to beta? It might be further down in the threads... (I have been writing this for SO LONG!)
yay structure!
The good news is that there IS a draft. The bad news is that it is so far a very basic draft. I will let you know once there is something worth looking at. ;)

I only manage to feature a few, but I think it makes a nice contrast to the general state of the world.

Plus I love finding more women artists!

Re. the gender, then male artists are on the whole massively over-represented, so it's nice to shine a light on artists who are not as well known. :)

As for me, I want *modesty*, and thus immodesty is disgusting; whereas your pictures you depict are mostly far more modest in nature, and I, for one, find that refreshing.

Your works I find most refreshingly decent, which's why I am rendering praise to ye for those selections.

Especially apply the ideas of Sun Tzu in terms of internet security and you'll be far stronger still than usual in that regard, that's why you always want to listen, and speak only when you must.
As far as this goes; good; that'll be helpful in the extreme.

And on LJ it's much easier to have a civil conversation. If I talked to people on Twitter I'd be a lot quicker to stop talking. :)

Although I do remember the kerfuffles of days of yore (which is why I made a quiet little corner for myself).
