Been absent
Sorry about not being around (more than usual), but we went to the Lake District and there was no wi-fi. (WELL. Technically the caravan site did have wi-fi. 1MB for the whole site...) Anyway, the Lake District was lovely and the weather was not bad at all!
However, my head is now consumed with writing a Good Omens fic (it had to happen, and the plot bunny is VERY insistent), although I realise that I think I've forgotten to mention that I'm re-posting my Spike/Buffy/Angel OT3 fic to AO3 (and giving it a once-over in the editing department at the same time):
Because Cavemen Have Fire
(Of course I also posted my huge, enormous, everything-and-the-kitchen-sink Good Omens meta last week, so I think I'm still recovering from that.)
ETA: Went back to skip=280, and this I'm caught up...

And hope you like the re-mastered 'Cavemen'. Most is the same, but here and there I have expanded a little. :)

Thank you! It's a safe bet, really, but we were glad not to get flooded.
I had to deal with someone trying to compare S11 to Class which... no.
Oh good lord! Chibnall ain't no Patrick Ness, that's for sure. /o\ Also just... *waves vaguely towards impossibly rich Class meta and complete lack of same for S11*
And the characters! *cries* There were eight episodes and I loved them all so much it HURT.

It was infuriating. I had to work so hard to stop myself from retorting that Ness did a better job of exploring SIX main characters in EIGHT episodes than Chibnall and his team managed with FOUR characters during ELEVEN episodes. Why did Chibnall insist on having three companions if he can't give them all something to do? Is anyone ever going to remember that Yaz is a police officer?

It's SO STRANGE. And like, Chibnall was never my favourite, but he's done some good stuff over the years, and he has a talent for crack... I mean, Cyberwoman is problematic in about three hundred different ways, but it also has huge, raw emotions and Jack snogging Ianto back to life and just. *hands* USE THAT TALENT.
(A Monster Calls is my 13 year old's favourite book, and it is genuinely stunning and heart-wrenching and really heavy stuff to be reading at that age - they read it in school - but hell yeah, kids WANT stuff like that. Make them think. Engage them.)
And now I remembered The Metaphysical Engine (or What Quill Did) and am going to go be astonished at Quill yet again, and a show that dug into ALLLLL THOSE THINGS, but aimed at teens. Goodness I love Quill.
