"Lawmaker". I know it's just a figure of speech for the journalist, but it breaks my heart that she never did make any laws. She had so much to give and it was all stolen from us by a man who gave his name as a slogan. :-(

We had a very similar case a few months ago in Germany. A woman was on a campaign becoming mayor of Cologne, shaking hands and giving a speech, when a man stabbed her into the neck. She was badly hurt but survived and while she was in the hospital, got elected mayor indeed.

I really have no idea what is wrong with people. Disagreeing with someone's views is one thing (I think he hated her stance about fugitives) but murdering them for it?

Well, this guy gave his name as 'death to traitors, freedom for Britain' in court, so clearly he's completely lost the plot. However, it's tragic that no one noticed.

Am glad the mayor didn't suffer the same fate.
